A new explosive weapon was introduced in the Democratic Detonation Warbond. This article explains how to get and use the R-36 Eruptor in Helldivers 2.

Your Primary Weapon is, unsurprisingly, the one you’ll be using most of the time, during your Helldivers 2 missions. They are mostly used to deal with chaff and weaker enemies, while your Support Weapon is there for the tougher ones. But, it doesn’t have to be the case all the time. Your Primary Weapon can deliver a mighty punch and deal with all but the most heavily armored enemies. The R-36 Eruptor is a weapon just like that. So, let’s see how to get and use the R-36 Eruptor in Helldivers 2.

Helldivers 2: How to Get the R-36 Eruptor

The R-36 Eruptor is found on the second page of the Democratic Detonation Warbond. You have to pay 60 Medals to unlock it. • Recoil: 75
  • Fire Rate: 25
  • Weapon Traits: Medium Armor Penetrating, Explosive

How to Use R-36 Eruptor in Helldivers 2

The Eruptor is an Explosive bolt-action rifle, ie, it fires single-shot with no semi-automatic or full-automatic option. It only has five shots before you have to reload it, but those shots are potent.

R-36 Eruptor is unexpectedly a very efficient weapon. It can deal with Medium Armor and the shots are explosive. That means it can easily deal with, for example, Scout Striders and waves of enemies. You can blow up a Devastator with a single shot to its exposed belly/spine. Moreover, being Explosive, the R-36 Eruptor can blow up Bug Holes and Bot Fabricators.

The downside of the R-36 Eruptor is the bolt-action firing mode and a small clip size, making it less than ideal in chaotic firefights. But, you can have a maximum of 12 mags to balance that out. And remember that being an Explosive weapon, the R-36 Eruptor is not a weapon for point-blank shots. You have to be very careful since you can easily injure yourself or your teammates with this weapon. You’ll be using your Secondary Weapon quite often.
