New Warbonds are always a cause for celebration. The new Democratic Detonation Warbond is hot out of the oven, so let’s see the best items to spend your Medals on in Helldivers 2.
In Helldivers 2, Medals are used to unlock new gear and cosmetics and therefore are the most valuable currency in the game. New Primary Weapons, Secondary, and Grenades can really improve your Loadout, and give you more options. In that regard, a new Warbond is here, bringing us more weapons, armor, cosmetics, emotes, and more. Now, keep reading to find out what are the best items to spend your Medals on in the latest Helldivers 2 Democratic Detonation Warbond.
Helldivers 2 Democratic Detonation Warbond Top 5 Best Items to Get
Everyone loves it when things go boom, and Democratic Detonation is not lacking in that department. With that in mind, we have compiled a short list of the top 5 items in the new Warbond that you should get. Remember that this is only our opinion, and your experience may be different.
1. GP-31 Grenade Pistol (Page 3, 60 Medals)
Hands-down the best item in Democratic Detonation. Having a Grenade Pistol as your sidearm opens so many possibilities for your Loadout. You can safely take other, non-explosive Grenades, without worrying that you won’t be able to close Bug Holes and Bot Fabricators, or you just won’t have to skimp on using explosive grenades during fights. Secondary Weapons are rarely used, so having one that brings this level of utility to your build is incredible.
2. R-36 Eruptor (Page 2, 60 Medals)
The Eruptor is an unexpected gem of this Warbond. You wouldn’t expect that a rifle with only 5 bullets per mag would be so effective. The Eruptor fires a single shot explosive shot, damaging both the target and anything near it. This is best used against smaller groups of tough opponents, like Automaton Devastators or Berserkers, whom it can one-shot with a hit to the spine.
3. CB-9 Exploding Crossbow (Page 3, 80 Medals)
Having a crossbow in a sci-fi game is beyond cool, especially when it shoots explosive bolts. The Exploding Crossbow is a highly accurate weapon whose bolts explode upon impact, whether it is the ground or a Terminid’s head. The downside is that it takes a little bit of skill to use and aim properly, due to gravity affecting its shots. Surprisingly, it is classified as an Explosive weapon but it cannot destroy fabricators and bug holes.
4. G-123 Thermite (Page 1, 15 Medals)
We were lacking a Grenade that could deal with armored targets. The new Thermite Grenade sticks to its target, gets incredibly hot, dealing damage over time, and then explodes for maximum impact. The downside is that it is not effective against Medium and better armor and that you can’t use it for a quick clean-up (because it takes some time to actually explode).
5. CE-07 Demolition Specialist (Page 2, 45 Medals)
Demolition Specialist is a Light Armor with the Engineering Kit Perk, making it ideal for quick, explosive actions, like destroying Terminids eggs, or for Blitz missions.
What Are the Items in Democratic Detonation Warbond Best Used For?
Democratic Detonation brings with it some explosive weapons, effective against both Terminids and Automatons. Cutting Edge Warbond was primarily geared for Automatons, and Steeled Veterans for Terminids, so it is great to see that we got something new that is effective against all enemies.
The Armor sets all have existing Perks (Engineering Kit and Fortified). Light and Medium have increased Grenade capacity, so are best used for closing Bug Holes and Bot Fabricators. The Heavy Armor has Fortified, one of the best defensive Perks in the game. New Helmets, Player Banners, and Victory Poses are pure cosmetics and they have no in-game benefits (besides looking cool). Boosters are squad-wide buffs, and the Expert Extraction Pilot Booster is no different.
This last Warbond before this one was Cutting Edge. There we saw some cool weapons, like the LAS-16 Sickle and Stun Grenade. Armor came with a brand-new Perk, that protected against Arc weapons. Surprisingly, one of the best items there was the Booster. Democratic Detonation, on the other hand, brings us a couple of weapons with the Explosive Trait, which is great for bypassing damage resistances that some enemies may have.
