Want to know what are the best guns in the Helldivers 2? We got you covered, so read on to see our best Weapons tier list for Helldivers 2.
Helldivers 2 is an action-packed co-op shooter, where your loadout can be the difference between victory and defeat. Your loadout consists of a Primary Weapon, a Secondary Weapon, Grenades, Armor, four Stratagems of your choice, and a squad-wide Booster. Your Primary Weapon is, unsurprisingly, the one you’ll be using the most during a mission, so having a good one is mandatory. With that in mind, we have compiled a tier list for the best Primary Weapons in Helldivers 2.
Best Weapons Tier List
A lot can factor into making a weapon great. The best one has to have a good mix of damage, penetration, and rate of fire. And let’s not forget the ammo capacity, or at least the ability to quickly reload. Lastly, the traits a weapon has (like Medium Armor Penetration, for example) can play a pivotal role. On that note, here is our list of Primary weapons.

Top 7 Best Weapons
SG-225 Breaker Shotgun
Breaker was the hottest weapon in the game before the 01.000.100 patch, but even after a slight nerf, it still holds the position of one of the best Primary Weapons in the game. It combines good damage, a high fire rate, and a fast reload. It also has a good range for a shotgun, making it a powerful and versatile weapon.

LAS-16 Sickle
Sickle is an energy-based weapon, introduced in the Cutting Edge Warbond. It combines good damage and rate of fire, with almost unlimited ammo, thanks to the Heat Weapon Trait. Moreover, it is quite efficient at long range. The only potential downside is that if it overheats, you have to change the magazine, and you can quickly run out of those during a long firefight if you are not careful.
SG-225IE Breaker Incendiary Shotgun
It has lower damage, range, and rate of fire than the standard Breaker, but it makes it up with the ability to set things on fire. Shoot over an area and watch everything burn, both enemies and terrain. Especially good versus Terminids.
SG-8 Punisher Shotgun
After the 01.000.100 patch, the Punisher became a powerful weapon. It now deals the most damage, compared to the other shotguns, and has increased ammo capacity and stagger force. Every shot will count. Also, you reload it a single round at a time so that’s also why it is not that good versus swarms of enemies. Rather, it’s best against a little tougher targets.
AR-61 Tenderizer
After the “big” patch, the Tenderizer became incredibly powerful. It is perfect for lightly armored enemies, dealing about 50% more damage than the standard Liberator, but the downside is the lower magazine size. The Tenderizer is perfect for small and medium-sized Terminids, making it a go-to choice on bug planets. Its use against Automatons is somewhat limited, but it is fairly accurate so you can target those weaker spots, like heads and exposed body parts.
R-63CS Diligence Counter Sniper
The Counter Sniper is a more powerful version of the regular Diligence Marksman Rifle. It packs more of a punch, with added Medium Armor Penetration, but has a reduced magazine size. With only six clips you can easily empty your ammo during a tough firefight, so you have to rely on ammo packs and Supplies. But, the ability to damage Automaton weak-point vents is more than worth it.
AR-23 Liberator Assault Rifle
The good old Liberator. It is the first weapon you get, and it still holds up to the task even on higher difficulties. It combines high accuracy for an assault rifle, decent damage, and a high rate of fire, making it capable of dealing with a wide range of targets, especially hordes. The only downside is that you’ll be going through your ammo supply pretty fast.
