Boosters are squad-wide buffs, and each of them is useful in its own way. But, taking the right combination of Boosters can benefit your gameplay immensely. For example, some impact your movement while others benefit your reinforcement pool. But, since the game revolves around fighting most of the time, the Boosters that benefit your combat ability will be ranked higher than others. With all that in mind, read on to see our best Boosters in Helldivers 2 tier list.

Helldivers 2: Best Boosters Tier List

The best Boosters are the ones that will always benefit your squad. A booster may offer some excellent bonuses “on paper”, but if they only work in rare situations, that will place them lower on the list. So, without further ado, here is our tier list of the best Boosters in Helldivers 2.

  • S Tier: Stamina Enhancement
  • A Tier: Hellpod Space Optimization, Vitality Enhancement, Localization Confusion
  • B Tier: UAV Recon Booster, Muscle Enhancement
  • C Tier: Increased Reinforcement Budget, Expert Extraction Pilot
  • D Tier: Flexible Reinforcement Budget, Motivational Shocks

S Tier

Stamina Enhancement

This Booster increases the Stamina capacity and regeneration of all Helldivers in the squad. Since you need to sprint most of the time (either when evading enemy fire or running circles around Chargers) there is nothing worse than when your Stamina drops to zero, forcing you to slow down (usually with lethal consequences). Stamina Enhancement buffs your mobility which is great both in and out of combat. Also, your Heavy Armor friends will thank you.

A Tier

Hellpod Space Optimization

Hellpod Space Optimization gives you full mags, grenades, and stims when you drop from a Hellpod, either when the mission starts or when Reinforcing. Without this Booster, you start with around 70% ammo capacity. When the fighting starts, every mag and every grenade counts, and having the full capacity right from the get-go can be crucial, especially when Reinforcing in the middle of the fight. Having this Booster in a full squad is almost crucial since you won’t have to rely on random ammo finds and Resupply drops as much. On the other hand, Hellpod Space Optimization is not that critical when playing solo or duo, as there are fewer people to share ammo with, or the whole thing can by bypassed with a simple Resupply drop at the beginning.

Vitality Enhancement

This Booster increases your general vitality, or, in simple terms: buffs your health. Vitality Enhancement benefits your limb health, giving you a little increase in general health and making those limb injuries less frequent. We all try not to die in this game, so this Booster is always useful.

Localization Confusion

The Booster from the Cutting Edge Warbond, Localization Confusion reduces the frequency of Bug Breaches and Automaton Dropships. Many a mission has failed due to the constant flow of enemy reinforcements, so this Booster will give you more breathing room, to reorganize and resupply. Since Helldivers revolves around fighting, Localization Confusion can prove very beneficial to almost every mission.

B Tier

UAV Recon Booster

UAV Recon Booster may not seem like much, but it increases the range at which you can see enemy blips on your minimap by a considerable amount. While it does not benefit your combat capabilities directly, knowing where nearby enemies are located can help you avoid them or set up a defense in a proper direction.

Muscle Enhancement

When you are moving about, certain terrain types reduce your moving speed, like deep snow or brush. Muscle Enhancement Booster reduces the impact that terrain has on you. Many a Helldiver has fallen due to a combination of difficult terrain and an incoming Charger. Muscle Enhancement is great on planets that have a lot of difficult terrain (like snow or jungle), but a little lackluster on others.

C Tier

Increased Reinforcement Budget

This Booster increases the total Reinforcement pool by one per Helldiver. The standard Reinforcement Budget is five per player, and this Booster increases that to six per player. Could be useful, but only if you die a lot. 

Expert Extraction Pilot

The Booster from the Democratic Detonation Warbond, this one reduced the time it takes for the Pelican-01 to arrive and extract you from a mission by 15%. That takes 18 seconds off the usual 2-minute Extraction timer. The main goal of a Mission is to complete the Primary Objective. Extracting is optional and only ever crucial if you’re collecting Samples. Taking up a Booster slot that will only be beneficial in a single moment of the game, instead of one that will grant a more general buff, is not a wise decision. But, if you are farming Samples on low difficulties, and want to speed things up a bit, that this Booster can be useful.

D Tier

Flexible Reinforcement Budget

Flexible Reinforcement Budget is at the bottom of the list, as it does almost the same as the Increased Reinforcement Budget Booster, but is worse at it (at least in our opinion). When you deplete your Reinforcement Budget, a two-minute timer starts and a new Reinforcement “point” will be added when those two minutes pass. This Booster reduces that timer by around 15 seconds.

If we compare it to the Increased Reinforcement Budget in a full squad, that one gives you four more reinforcements from the start. On the other hand, the Flexible Reinforcement Budget will need about seven minutes to do the same thing, and only if your Budget is constantly empty.

Motivational Shocks

The Booster from Polar Patriots is unfortunately one of the least useful. On paper, it says that it reduces the slow effect you can get when hit by enemies. In practice, players say that the slow reduction is almost unnoticeable and that it works every 10 seconds, give or take. Almost worthless when surrounded by Hunters. The players wanted something to help them get out of situations like these, but, unfortunately, this Booster is not the one to do it.
