In Helldivers 2, you’re sometimes required to destroy Fuel Silos and other structures when you’re taking on missions. However, it’s not made clear how exactly you should go about doing this. With your target marked, you’ll need to figure out how to wipe out the fuel reserves for good. Fortunately, there are two simple solutions to the problem, though the task at hand isn’t all that easy to execute correctly. Here’s how to destroy Fuel Silos in Helldivers 2.
- Enlist in the Helldivers and join the fight for freedom across a hostile galaxy in a fast, frantic, and ferocious third-person shooter.
- Become a Legend – You will be assembled into squads of up to four Helldivers and assigned strategic missions. Watch each other’s back – friendly fire is an unfortunate certainty of war, but victory without teamwork is impossible.

Best Ways to Destroy a Fuel Silo in Helldivers 2
When you’re out on planet missions in Helldivers 2, you’re often asked to destroy structures like Fuel Silos. Luckily, there are a couple of ways to finish the job, though executing the task at hand may not be quite as simple as its solution. Here’s a look at your options to wipe out Fuel Silos and other structures:
- Use the Hellbomb Stratagem
- Call in an Orbital Bombardment
Dropping a Hellbomb
The Hellbomb is a mission-specific Stratagem in Helldivers 2. When applicable, it’s given to you at the start of a mission for you to use at the appropriate time. This includes the task of destroying a Fuel Silo. The new Stratagem will appear among those available when you get close to the target structure. If you’re not sure which is your target, double-check your map.
Be sure to wipe out any nearby enemies (usually Automatons) to execute the job without issue. When you’re ready, you first need to get as close to the silo as you can, then call in the Hellbomb. Finally, activate it at the terminal — and get out of there as fast as you can, as it has a huge blast radius.
Calling for an Orbital Bombardment
If the Hellbomb is unavailable, you can always resort to calling in an Orbital Bombardment like the Precision Orbital Strike Strategem in Helldivers 2. This method isn’t quite as effective as the bomb, but it can be substituted when you’re tasked with destroying a Fuel Silo. Just bear in mind that there’s a chance it may not produce the results you’re looking for, requiring several tries. That said, other explosive Strategems, like different Eagle Airstrike Stratagems (like the 500KG bomb), can also be used to wipe out the enemy’s fuel reserves, so use what you can to finish the job.
You can shoot the Silos with explosive weaponry, like the Recoilless Rifle to the Expendable Anti-tank, but is going to take a lot of shots. Your best bet is the Hellbomb, as it is the easiest way, does not consume any of your resources, and you call as many Hellbombs as you like.
