Stalkers are one of the, if not the, most hated Terminid types. Because of that, this article will explain how to find and kill Stalkers in Helldivers 2.

In Helldivers 2, you and a squad of your mates (or randoms) are protecting Super Earth against various alien enemies. Those are either the Automaton Collective or Terminids. These Terminids come in all bug-like shapes and sizes, usually in swarms of smaller bugs, with a couple of larger bugs added into the mix (like the Chargers and Bile Titans). But, some Terminids use sneaky tactics to surprise and ambush you. And none are more sneakier than Stalkers. So read on to see how to find and kill Stalkers in Helldivers 2.

How to Find Stalkers in Helldivers 2

Since Stalkers are a part of the Terminid faction, naturally, you have to go to a Terminid planet. They are on the right-hand (eastern) side of the galaxy map. You will encounter Stalkers from the Medium difficulty level onward.

What Are Stalkers

Staklers are invisible bugs, looking a lot like Hunters, but way larger. They have dirty white chitin with black highlights, four legs, a pair of frontal claws, and red crest and wings. The official description of the Stalkers is: “A side effect of Terminid gene splicing research, Stalkers can camouflage themselves almost to the point of invisibility. But nothing can hide from the cleansing light of Freedom forever.” As you might have guessed, Stalkers are invisible most of the time, and they reveal themselves right before attacking, making them a dangerous foe.

Where to Find Stalkers

You won’t find Stalkers the usual way, ie, in patrols, Outposts, and such. Rather, Stalkers are part of a Secondary Objective that has a chance to spawn on any mission (from Medium difficulty and higher), called Stalker Lair.

Stalkers do not go far from their Lair, so if you are ambushed by Stalkers, their Lair is nearby. Finding the Lair is the same as finding any other Secondary or Point of Interest – you simply have to explore that map. The Lairs are almost always located in some rock formations, so be sure to check those out.

How to Kill Stalkers in Helldivers 2

Luckily, killing Stalkers is not that complicated. Locating them is. As you realize by now, Stalkers are invisible most of the time. They appear right before attacking, and if their ambush is unsuccessful, they leap out of the fight and become invisible once again. You may see a faint outline where they are.

Stalkers’ attacks are incredibly powerful and can down a Helldiver with a one-two punch in no time. They will chase after you if you prove to be easy prey (slowed down, crawling, low on health). Having your squad with you can be essential when dealing with Stalkers. A lone Helldiver will be overwhelmed easily.

On the flip side, Stalkers do not have any special protection, apart from invisibility. They suffer damage from all weapons but have more health than you’d expect. A wounded Stalker will try to go back to its lair, so you can follow the general direction it went to if you want to find and destroy the Lair. The Lair itself is comprised of one or two larger bug holes, which you can destroy with explosives, the usual way.

Best Weapons and Stratagems Against Stalkers

Stalkers are huge targets but pretty fast. They do not have any special protection and only have Light Armor. But, a Stalker can munch you up while you are shooting at it so weapons that deal a lot of damage in one go are the best against Stalkers.

Shotguns are your best bet here. The Breaker deals a lot of damage, and its spray will almost guarantee a hit, but a Punisher deals a lot of stagger, which will slow the Stalker down, securing you an easy kill. The latest Secondary, the Bushwhacker, proved to be a very effective solution to surprise Stalker attacks.

As for Support Weapons, any “mid” weapon can be effective against Stalkers, like Machine Gun, Laser Cannon, Arc Thrower, and Railgun. As for other Stratagems, Sentries and Guard Dogs can watch your back and protect you from ambushes. Orbitals and Airstrikes are not accurate enough to effectively deal with fast enemies like Stalkers but are great for destroying their Lairs. Once the Lair is destroyed, no more Stalkers will spawn from there, and you can easily clean up what’s left.
