The Mesh Shield is the only specialization you can use to protect your teammates directly. Once activated Heavy Build will put up a monodirectional barrier, that will negate any incoming damage from one direction. Mesh Shield lasts until it soaks 750 points of damage or is turned off. While this specialization is active Heavy Build can move and redirect the shield. Nevertheless, while the shield is active players cannot use other gadgets or weapons, so make sure that your teammates take advantage of the protection and punish enemies.

The Best build for Mesh Shield in The Finals

  • Weapon: MGL32 or SA1216
  • Specialization: Mesh Shield
  • Gadgets: RPG-7, Dome Shield, C4

Firstly, Mesh Shield is a great specialization to protect your teammates from incoming fire. Nevertheless, it will get broken eventually and there is a 15s cooldown before it can be used again. For this purpose, the Dome Shield can be a lifesaver. Simply deploy the gadget and use its protection until Mesh Shield comes back online.

Because the Heavy Build is not the best when it comes to long-range precision, taking C4 and RPG-7 can help you negate that. RPG-7 is a great option due to its destructive potential and the ability to eliminate Light Builds in one shot. And although C4 was nerfed, it is still a good option for creating nukes and its defensive potential is still top-notch.

Lastly, picking a weapon to go with the Mesh Shield is a bit tricky. This specialization is at its core a defensive one and you cannot use the weapon while it’s active. Choosing a weapon will depend on the composition of the enemies you are facing. If enemies are predominantly Light Builds then SA1216 will offer you the best chance to deal with them up close. On the other hand, if you are facing more Medium and Heavy Builds, then MGL32 might be a better choice. MGL23 has a bit of a learning curve, but once mastered its destructive potential is boundless.
