Hades 2 Melinoe fighting a mandrake looking monster

Looking to get this screaming plant? Look no further, since this article explains how to get Mandrake in Hades 2.

Mandrake is a staple in every witch’s cauldron, and Melinoe is no different. In Hades 2 there are so many different materials that you can find and use, either for upgrades, magical Incantations, or to simply sell. Some of those materials are plants that you have to plant first, like Garlic or Thalamus. In this article, we will talk about Mandrake, another plant in Hades 2 that you have to personally grow, how to get it, and what’s it for.

Hades 2: How to Get Mandrake

Mandrake is one of those plants that you have to plant in your garden and grow before you can use it. First, let’s see where to find the Mandrake Seeds

To get some Mandrake Seeds, you have to travel to the surface and bring your Silver Spade with you. Go to the Rift of Thessaly area, and look for dirt patches/digging spots on the ground. Once found, approach them, and use the Spade to dig. Each sport will yield a random seed, so if you do not find a Mandrake Seed in the first one, find other digging spots until you get one. But, again, only in Rift of Thessaly.

When you dig out a Mandrake Seed, bring it back to the Crossroads, and plant it in one of your available Soil Plots. Remember you can always add more Soil Plots by performing the Flourishing Soil Incantation. It will take 17 “clocks” to fully grow, so, you can pass the time in the Hot Springs or by doing runs.

After it has fully grown, simply pick it up like any other grown plant and a Mandrake will be added to your inventory.

How to Use Mandrake in Hades 2

Mandrake has a couple of uses in Hades 2 for now, mainly to upgrade your gear. First, you need two Mandrakes to upgrade your Silver Spade. You also need some Mandrake for upgrading various Arcana Cards, and to perform Circles of Protection Incantation.

Lastly, you can always sell excess Mandrake, from 12 Bones apiece. No doubt the devs will add more uses for Mandrake as the game nears the official 1.0 release.
