In Hades 2 there is a plethora of ingredients, most of them fantastical in nature. They are primarily used for magical Incantations or for weapon upgrades. They range from the humble Bronze to more magical ones, like Shadow or Thalamus. But, to everyone’s surprise, you also need the humble Garlic for various purposes. So, let’s see how to get Garlic in Hades 2.
Hades 2: How to Get Garlic
Garlic is one of those ingredients that you have to grow in your “garden” personally. The more complicated part is finding the seeds. Thankfully, it’s not too much of a hassle.
You can find Garlic Cloves on the surface. Specifically, in the City of Ephyra. Climb up on the surface and don’t forget to bring the Silver Spade with you. While in the City look for Digging Spots (dirt patches on the ground), use your Silver Spade on them and chances are you will be rewarded with some Garlic Cloves.
Garlic Cloves are essentially seeds so bring them back to the Crossroads and plant them in available Soil Plots. After a short while you will be rewarded with some Garlic.
What is Garlic Used for in Hades 2
Unfortunately, Melinoë does not need Garlic to make herself some Aglio e Olio. Rather, Garlic is only used in some Incantations (at least for now). The Incantations in question are Rite of Social Solidarity (grants you Nectar), Verdant Soil (grants Soil Plots), and Surge of Fresh Air (makes Shrines of Hermes appear during your surface runs).
No doubt more uses for Garlic will be added in the future. Additionally, you can always sell excess Garlic to the Wretched Broker. You’ll get 10 Bones for each Garlic.
