A lot of players love some romance in their RPGs. With that in mind, let’s see all the romance options in Hades 2.
Hades 2 is a sequel to the popular Hades game, an isometric, roguelike action RPG. In the first game, the protagonist, Zagreus, had to option to romance some characters. In the sequel, his sister, Melinoe, also has a couple of romance options. In this article, we will discuss who the romanceable characters are, and what you have to do to earn their attention. So, let’s see how are all the romance options in Hades 2.
Hades 2: List of All Romance Options
For now, there are six different characters that you can almost get into a more serious relationship with. Unfortunately (or for the better), no Olympian gods are among them.
- Hecate – The goddess of Magic, Hecate is Melinoe’s tutor. Deepening the relationship with her may uncover some of her secrets, implying there is something more than just a student-mentor relationship.
- Odysseus – A famous Greek hero, Odysseus is one of the few “mortals” that Melinoe encounters. Just be prepared that Circe, the sorceress, may get jealous (being Odysseus’ former lover).
- Nemesis – The spirit of Retribution, Nemesis starts off seeing Melinoe as a rival of sorts. But, after a couple of hot baths, you may see something attractive under all those protective layers.
- Dora – A shade from the Crossroads, Dora is somewhat of Melinoe’s sarcastic roommate. A somewhat weird option to romance a bodiless shade, but Dora is known to be able to change her form.
- Eris – The personification of Strife, Eris starts off being something of an enemy to Melinoe, heckling her and throwing trash around. Throughout the game, their relationship may improve, leading to a romantic subplot.
- Moros – Doom Incarnate, Moros is a mysterious figure. But, after a couple of visits to the Hot Springs, Melinoe will see that there is more to this purple-eyed, white-haired character than meets the eye.
How to Romance Characters
To romance characters in Hades 2, you have to give them appropriate gifts. You can see which gifts to give them and when you perform the Empath’s Intuition Incantation. You’ll need one Fate Fabric and thee Myrtle to do so. After that, you will see the “relationship meter” in your Book of Shadows for each of the aforementioned characters, and what Gift you should give them next.
When you reach the next-to-last heart, you will get the message that the character doesn’t need anything more from you, with “perhaps in the future…” added. That implies that a romance scene will be added in future updates, as Hades 2 is still in Early Access. We may see more romance options when the game gets its 1.0 release.
