Helldivers 2 Dissapoints the Community With the Absence of a New Patch

Helldivers 2 players expected a patch on Tuesday, April 23, but none came. This has left some players quite disappointed since they were looking forward to some fixes and improvements. The absence of a new patch has left many Helldivers 2 players feeling disappointed.

The developers of Helldivers 2, Arrowhead Game Studios, have been quite consistent with their general updates. As one player stated: “Arrowhead has done more updates in two months than other games in 3 years”. Players have noticed that the devs release a patch almost every Tuesday. With so many issues plaguing the community, everyone was gearing up to see what the next patch will bring.

Helldivers 2 Players Just Can’t Wait For a New Patch

Adding new content means that more things can go wrong. For example, new weapons are not performing as expected, others are bugged or just subpar. When asked for their expectations in one Reddit post, players mostly ask for stability and weapon fixes. LallarenEXE said: “Fingers crossed for thermite grenade buff” due to the fact that the Thermite Grenade was one of the most anticipated items in the Democratic Detonation Warbond, and it turned out to be lacklustre.

The majority of players, like Kelevelin, ask for fixes for the Spear and damage over time effects. The Spear is notorious for having an inconsistent locking-in mechanic, while a lot of players report that damage over time due to fire is not working properly.

Of course, requests for fixing stability issues are always present, as well as some minor ones, like asking for a crosshair on the Heavy Machine Gun. But, in the end, Tuesday passed and no patch was released.

Developer Comments About the Lack of a Tuesday Patch

As shared in another Reddit post, when asked about the patch on their Discord channel, the devs replied that it is “still cooking” and it was surprisingly well received.

It seems that players do appreciate when the devs take their time in order to do things properly. One player, named Falchion_Sensei, said: “Figured they’re cooking something good. I’d rather they take the time to not patch every week and introduce new issues while resolving old ones.“

As for the expected release of the patch, one player thinks that they want to release it when the current Major Order expires, in about one day. After a Major Order, there is usually a “grace period” of a couple of hours before a new Order is announced. It is not impossible that the devs will use this timeframe to release the patch.

While this is one of the best games we have today, having performance and stability issues can irritate everyone. It is commendable that Arrowhead is releasing fixes as much as they can. We only hope that new patches will actually make the game more stable and enjoyable for everyone, instead of addressing some minor issues. Fingers crossed. Until then, Helldivers 2 devs, the absence of a new Tuesday patch has been noted.
