There is a special minigame on the Ship that is unlocked for some players, but not for all. So, read on to see how to unlock the Stratagem Hero ship game in Helldivers 2.
Helldivers 2 combines co-op shooter gameplay with hilarious lore, which has proven to be a successful recipe for a great game. You fight against different alien threats, bent on destroying your way of life, Super Earth, Freedom, Liberty, and most importantly, Democracy. You have an arsenal of tools to help you in that regard, like different weapons, explosives and other gear, and Stratagems.
Stratagems require you to type in a code before being deployed, so knowing how to do so under fire can be crucial for your survival. On that note, there is a cute minigame on your starship, called Strategem Hero. But, it is not available for everyone. Why is that? Can it be unlocked? Let’s see if there is a way to unlock Stratagem Hero minigame in Helldivers 2.
How to Unlock the Stratagem Hero Ship Game in Helldivers 2
The only way to unlock the Stratagem Hero minigame is to purchase the deluxe Super Citizen Edition of Helldiers 2. That edition comes with a lot of goodies, and the Stratagem Hero minigame is one of them. Sadly, at this moment, there is no other way of unlocking this minigame on your Ship, and it is not a part of any Warbond.
That may be added as an option in the future but for now, you can only get it by purchasing the Super Citizen Edition (or upgrading your Standard Edition to it). And no, just purchasing the Premium Warbond that comes with the Super Citizen edition will not unlock Stratagem Hero.
What is the Stratagem Hero Minigame?
Stratagem Hero is a minigame, located on your Ship, just to the right as you enter the main area. It is a game where you practice the typing of the Stratagem Codes, and the more you do so without error, the higher your score shall be. Is there a benefit to it, is there a prize at the end?
Besides practicing and getting yourself more familiar with Stratagem Codes, no, there is no in-game benefit of having Stratagem Hero. It is a respectable decision by Arrowhead, as they do everything they can to avoid pay-to-win features. Still, pretty darn useful if you want to be better at Helldivers 2, and to give you something to do while your squad spends their Medals and upgrades their Destroyer ship between missions.

Unofficial Stratagem Hero
It didn’t take long for the fans to create an unofficial version of Stratagem Hero. If you want to get better at calling in Strategems, you can try that out. This is a great practicing tool, as typing the Stratagem Codes in a pinch can get stressful. But, as always, if you really like it, you should consider purchasing the official version, ie, the Super Citizen Edition.
Can You Play Stratagem Hero on a Friend’s Ship
Yes, you can, if the friend in question has Stratagem Hero unlocked. If you happen to be on a friend’s Destroyer ship, and the has Super Citizen Edition purchased, you can play Stratagem Hero while on their ship.
