Wondering if you can have a mech and vehicles in Helldivers 2? We’ve got you covered. We’ll go over everything there is to know about these features and whether they’re available in the game at launch.

Helldivers 2 is now available to play on PC and PlayStation 5 consoles, recruiting players into Helldiver squads for an intergalactic face-off against ferocious enemies and more. It had somewhat mixed reviews on Steam due to myriad issues with servers, login mishaps, and matchmaking errors. However, the devs did smooth out the gameplay and fans are hoping for the addition of new features. As it stands, can you have a mech or vehicles in Helldivers 2? It looks like the dream is becoming a reality.

PS5 Helldivers 2
  • Enlist in the Helldivers and join the fight for freedom across a hostile galaxy in a fast, frantic, and ferocious third-person shooter.
  • Become a Legend – You will be assembled into squads of up to four Helldivers and assigned strategic missions. Watch each other’s back – friendly fire is an unfortunate certainty of war, but victory without teamwork is impossible.
  • Loadouts – Rain down freedom from above, sneak through enemy territory, or grit your teeth and charge head-first into the jaws of combat. How you deliver liberty is your choice; you’ll have access to a wide array of explosive firepower, life-saving armour and battle-changing stratagems… the jewel in every Helldiver’s arsenal.
  • Requisition – Super Earth recognises your hard work with valuable Requisition. Use it to access different rewards that benefit you, your squad, your destroyer ship and our overall war effort.
  • Threats – Everything on every planet wants you dead. That’s what we’re dealing with. Each enemy has distinct and unpredictable characteristics, tactics, and behaviour – but they all fight ferociously and without fear or morality.

Does Helldivers 2 Have Mechs and Vehicles?

Currently, Helldivers 2 does not feature mechs or vehicles. However, Arrowhead Game Studios and PlayStation have confirmed that both will be added to the game “soon after launch.” We have caught a glimpse of how these features will improve gameplay — and the player base has voiced its excitement for their arrival.

In the top-down, original Helldivers, you had the opportunity to pilot various vehicles, like the TD-110 Bastion tank and MC-109 Hammer Motorcycle. The sequel, now a third-person perspective game, is still based on infantry combat, but it looks like some new equipment will enhance the Helldiver’s arsenal.

In a January 31 trailer released on YouTube, we received a few teasers for what’s the come. The footage showcased the EXO-44 Walker Exosuit, which can be manned to effectively plow through hordes of intergalactic enemies. Prior to the game’s launch on February 8, hopeful players were seriously hyped about the implementation of this mech suit, returning machines, and others to come, flooding the trailer’s comments section with their stamps of approval.

While we can’t be sure when to expect the introduction of the EXO-44, a new and official announcement concerning mechs is finally here.

Official Confirmation – Mechs Are Coming to Helldivers 2

On March 05, the introduction of Mechs is officially announced. The Twitter post says: “The EXO-45 Patriot Exosuits are in full production in the factories of Tien Kwan. Ready for deployment on the battlefield soon!”

While we still do not have a release date, leaks and various footage of their impressive firepower are already circling the community. The EXO-45 Patriot Exosuit has a Minigun in place of one arm, and a rocket launcher-looking weapon on the other. What is interesting is that the trailer shows an EXO-44 Exosuit, yet the poster shows an EXO-45 Exosuit. That is either a change in design or it means that more than one Mech is coming soon. As far as we know, Mechs and vehicles will be called down like any other Stratagem, and they will be one-use-only, ie, you can only call them down once per player, much like a 500KG Bomb. We will update this section as soon as we have any new information.

What About Vehicles?

While we do not have an official announcement, leakers have shared various in-game footage with new vehicles in them. In one of them, an armored transport is dropped by what looks like a Pelican dropship. Players can all embark on the transport, and there is also a pintle-mounted machine gun that one of the passengers can use. We are still waiting for the official announcement.
