Helldivers 2 is about to be released any day now. This newest shooter, published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, follows its predecessor from 2015. Only, this time, it’s a third-person shooter, instead of a top-down view, like the first installment. Speaking of the first installment, it had paid DLCs in the form of new characters and weapons. Is this also the case with the second? Does Helldivers 2 have a Battle Pass system? Read on and find out.
Does Helldivers 2 Have a Battle Pass?
Helldivers 2 does not have a Battle Pass on launch, but, the developers have confirmed that they plan to add a Battle Pass-like system post-launch. The system will be named Warbonds, and it is planned to function similarly to Battle Passes on other games, but with a couple of welcome twists. So far, we have gathered that you can get Warbonds using Super Credits, which you either pay for with real money or earn in-game while exploring points of interest.
Each Warbond offers multiple pages of unlockable content. About that, PlayStudios says: “You’re going to see some really cool items in the game, each one giving you different ways to approach problems within missions. So, get ready to armor up, drop in, and erase some enemy scum.” Moreover, everyone will get access to “Helldivers Mobilize” Warbond for free, as soon as it is released. Will Some Warbonds Be Removed After a While?
No, they will not. The developers stated: “…the Warbonds are NOT a pay-to-win, FOMO-driven system. Instead, the gear in the Warbonds just keeps accumulating. We will not retire earlier Warbonds as new ones are released – you can pick them up and complete them at any time!” This is great news and a breath of fresh air in the gaming community.
