After completing the mission in Helldivers 2, the next course of action is usually to extract from it. However, it could be complicated to do in the heat of battle, so this guide will help you out.
Helldivers 2 brings a co-op firefighting extravaganza to the galaxy near you. Join forces with friends from Managed Democracy of Super Earth to drive away hordes of bugs and killer robots. To do this, you take on the role of a Helldiver, one of Earth’s elite soldiers. You and your squad will deploy in a dangerous area, bringing the fight to the enemy. Once the mission is over, it is time to get out of Dodge. For that reason, you have to know how to extract from a mission in Helldivers 2.Â
- Enlist in the Helldivers and join the fight for freedom across a hostile galaxy in a fast, frantic, and ferocious third-person shooter.
- Become a Legend – You will be assembled into squads of up to four Helldivers and assigned strategic missions. Watch each other’s back – friendly fire is an unfortunate certainty of war, but victory without teamwork is impossible.

- Threats – Everything on every planet wants you dead. That’s what we’re dealing with. Each enemy has distinct and unpredictable characteristics, tactics, and behaviour – but they all fight ferociously and without fear or morality.
How to extract from a mission in Helldivers 2
Every map in Helldivers 2 comes with an extraction zone. You can see this area by bringing up your map, either in full by pressing M or as a minimap by pressing Tab. The extraction zone is marked with a white arrow.
After the mission, make your way to the extraction zone, navigating through the map and any enemies or obstacles. Once you’ve made your way to the extraction zone, locate the terminal console and activate extraction by interacting with it (E on your keyboard).
Next, you will have to input the extraction command. This is done in the same manner as calling down Stratagems – by inputting the directional commands following the sequence on the terminal. Once you’ve successfully called for an extraction, all you have to do is wait. But that’s not all.
Once the extraction process is started, you have to sit tight until your transport arrives. This can take several minutes. Unfortunately, this will alert enemies to your position, so you and your team will have to dig in and defend the extraction zone.
Enemies will assault the extraction zone from all sides in waves, so make sure that you cover all entrances. This is the perfect time to use any leftover Strategems as well. Lastly, the zone itself has several resupply caches, so you can get more ammo and grenades to help you out. Once the transport arrives, you and your team can load up and fly back to the safety of your respective spaceships.
