If you are looking for a versatile anti-tank weapon, then this article is for you. Read on to learn how to get and use the EAT-17 Expendable Anti-Tank in Helldivers 2.

In Helldivers 2 there are a lot of weapons to choose from. Having balanced loadouts across your squad can be critical for mission success. If you encounter a heavily armored target and no one in your team has brought anti-tank weapons, you’ll be in trouble. In that case, having an anti-tank weapon that gets the job done and that you can call in quickly is practically necessary. That’s where the Expendable Anti-Tank shines. So, let’s see how to get and use EAT-17 Expendable Anti-Tank in Helldivers 2.

How to Get the EAT-17 Expendable Anti-Tank in Helldivers 2

Being a Stratagem, you can get the EAT-17 Expendable Anti-Tank via the Ship Management terminal. Access the terminal, go to the Stratagems tab, and look for the Expendable Anti-Tank. It is located in the Patriotic Administration Center subsection (the first one). You need to be at least Level 3 to unlock it, and it costs 3000 Requisition points to do so.

How to Equip the Expendable Anti-Tank In-Game

To use the Expendable Anti-Tank, you first have to select it as one of your four Stratagems, in the Loadout screen, before embarking on a mission. You call it in as any other Stratagem, by typing in a unique code and throwing a strat-ball at a chosen location. The Stratagem code for the EAT-17 Expendable Anti-Tank is Down, Down, Left, Up, Right.

Once called, a weapon pod will drop, and inside you will find two (yes, two) Expendable Anti-Tank launchers. Approach the pod and press the prompted button to equip one as your Support Weapon.

As the name suggests, this is a one-shot weapon and is discarded after use. You cannot reload it or get more ammo, you can only call in a new one. You use it as any other weapon, hold the Aim button to, well, aim, and press the Fire button to fire the missile. Note that anyone standing behind you at the moment of firing will be knocked over by the weapon discharge. If you are shooting over long distances, take gravity into account, since the missle will gradually fall.

Expendable Anti-Tank deals a lot of damage to whatever it hits and is great for destroying the armor plates of massive enemies. It can even dispatch a Charger with a well-placed rocket to the head. Being a one-use weapon is not as bad as it may seem. You can carry a different Support Weapon, call in an EAT-17 Expendable Anti-Tank when a big threat emerges, switch to it, shoot with both launchers (usually that is quite enough for almost any target), and switch back to your original Support Weapon.

It has a very low cooldown, and if you get the Streamlined Request Process Ship Module upgrade, the cooldown is about a minute. EAT-17 Expendable Anti-Tank is among the most powerful weapons in the game, and is a great choice if you do not have or want a dedicated anti-tank Loadout, but want to be able to engage a wide range of targets. Combine it with a horde-clearer weapon (like Stalwart or Flamethrower) and you can take on practically everything the galaxy throws at you. The only downside is that it uses up a Stratagem slot.

Note that you can also use the Expendable Anti-Tank to destroy buildings. Having one is pretty useful if you want to quickly complete the Terminate Illegal Broadcast secondary. The low cooldown is also great since you can call in a bunch of them while preparing to defend an area (either for extraction, for the “defend the fort” mission, or anything similar).
