Dragon’s Dogma 2 has Pawns as companions and henchmen, but can you play it solo? Here’s what we gathered.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 is Capcom’s latest action RPG. You can make your main character, called the Arisen, in great detail. You get to choose their appearance to the tiniest detail, as well as their race and Vocation. Main Pawns are created in the same way. But, what if you do not want to have a Main Pawn, or any Pawn for that matter? Can you play Dragon’s Dogma 2 solo with no Pawn? Let’s see.

Dragon’s Dogma 2: Can You Play Solo With No Pawns

Even though the game is primarily designed to be played with the aid of Pawns, you can absolutely fly solo. You even get a 20% bonus to your Vocation XP gains if you are completely alone, to reward you for your efforts.

Some players prefer that method of playing just by itself, others can be annoyed by the constant commentary that the Pawns make. Whatever your reason might be, certain steps have to be taken if you want to get rid of your Pawns.

How to Get Rid of Pawns

The method of ridding yourself of your Pawns depends on whether it is your Main Pawn or “Support” Pawn. Support Pawns are easy to get rid of, you just have to find a Pawn Riftstone. Those are the large stones with glowing blue markings on them, that you first encounter at Borderwatch Outpost. Enter the Rift and there you’ll have various options for your Pawns, as well as the option to dismiss them. That way you can safely remove Pawns from your party. But, getting rid of your Main Pawn is a little more complicated.

To get rid of your Main Pawn, you have to be a little mean. Since you cannot simply dismiss your Main Pawn, more extreme measures have to be taken. So, the most direct way of getting rid of your Main Pawn is to throw them off a cliff. Simply walk over to a cliff edge, approach your Pawn, grab them, and throw them off the cliff. If you leave them there for a while, they will be forcibly removed from your party, leaving you completely alone.
