Can you change your overall appearance in the game? Read on to learn how to change appearance in Dragon’s Dogma 2.

Character creation in role-playing games can take hours. People enjoy the sheer number of options and modifications they can make while creating their in-game avatar. After more than 10 years, we finally got a sequel to Dragon’s Dogma, and the Character Creation part is as detailed as you can imagine. But, what to do if you want to change your appearance after a while, is that even an option? Yes, it is. So, let’s see how to change your appearance in Dragon’s Dogma 2.

Dragon’s Dogma 2: How to Change Appearance

To change your appearance, you have to visit a Barbarie. There, you have a couple of options. You can change your hairstyle, makeup, and markings/tattoos, for 10.000 gold each. There is even a 3-in-1 option, “Change Multiple” that allows you to do all of that with a discount (25.000 gold).

But, if you want to completely change your appearance at the Barbarie, from the ground up, you need a special item. The option to do so is called “Modify Appearance”, and it costs one Art of Metamorphosis. That is a special item that you can either buy from DD2’s online store for $1.99 or purchase using in-game currency. It will cost you 500 Rift Crystals to buy one, and it is sold by a Pawn Guild vendor. Rift Crystals you can also purchase from the store, or you can get them while playing the game, by activating Riftstones, in Treasure Chests, or if another player hires your Pawn.

A single Art of Metamorphosis will either change your appearance or your main Pawn’s appearance. Using the “Modify Appearance” option, you can change everything about your character (gender, body type, height, everything), apart from your race.

Where to Change Appearance in Dragon’s Dogma 2

Only one shop type in DD2 allows you to change your appearance, and those are Barbaries. You can find them by looking for shop signs that have that classic barber diagonal red-white-blue pattern, with the images of scissors, hairdo, and a comb. For now, there are only two Barbaries:

  • Clovis’s Barberie in Vernworthn
  • Mettefere’s Cosmetics in Bakbttahl
