you know what's sad? that i never got to play this game... bummer...

i've seen the vids in YouTube, and I must say, setting aside the visuals when compared with todays games, the game is interesting and looks good, and would have loved to play the game. their approach for a horror game is also good. and i know everyone who loves the game will agree how much this could work now on the Wii U, with the HD graphics, the gamepad and/or the different controllers.

i believe this is what nintendo has been quietly doing for the past months or so. nintendo is giving away free devkits to indie devs, they allow self-publishing, there is no fee to upload patches (and no limit how many patch you want), they have online talks about using the tools + more, they're supporting the one engine that's popular with indie devs at the moment (Unity) and a lot more, what more do you want?

well, i hope your right about my 2nd point.

as for my point no. 1 regarding price. even if you can justify the value of having 2 separate consoles that can work in tandem, as i've originally pointed out. parents and casual buyers who belong to the majority of consumers will less likely see that value (some won't even bother knowing what "remote play" is), and just go for the one that is cheaper. and speaking of "tandem", you may have also forgotten...

sony mandated it, but how much of a support will the devs really do for remote play?

from my point of view, the least support they can give that should be built-into the PS4 console, is to allow a similar off-tv play to the Vita, so you can play-on-the-go, and possibly simpler functionality. more complex 2nd screen features will require additional programming -- something not all dev companies will consider noting the additional cost. of course Sony 1st party games will most ...

i'm not talking about the number of games available 1st party or not. and i don't deny that there are more 3rd party support for the PS4. and as i've pointed out, i'm not here to bash the PS4, coz i'm also planning to get one. just stating my opinion with regards to the topic.

however, my point is with regards to how much of the remote play features would be used by the devs. because of the factors i mentioned, it will most likely end up only as a basic 2n...

in a way it is, just like XBox's Smartglass is an enemy to the Wii U. but only because it's also a 2nd screen implementation, nothing more.

however, as many people have already mentioned there are several factors that will affect this:

1) price - PS4 + Vita will mean shelling out around $600 or so. Wii U's $350 price tag (and perhaps lower if we get a price drop), will give you the same experience (and better) for less. i've said this before, ...

while most will agree that Wii U's multiplayer was far less than those compared to PS3/360; a lot of people will also agree that Wii U's COD multiplayer also had more "mature" players. and by mature, I don't mean by age alone -- less 12-year old wannabees who screams more profanity than any R-18 movie.

shovelware or not, at least Activision knows how not to burn bridges with Nintendo. and for that, kudos to Activision!

now looking at the list, there's a high chance that COD and Skylanders will have most of the support, but then again come the holidays, the other games which are targeted more for kids will surely get the vote from parents who are buying for their kids.

so it all comes down to this... EA is really the only big 3rd party that's being a b*tch towards Wii U.

oh well, there goes the Worst Company of the Year 2013 award.

on a serious note, seeing the list of Activision games, i'd have to say only COD and perhaps Skylanders will surely be getting lots of support, although at least they're good enough to support the Wii U.

if it's not a hit on the Wii U, what are the guarantees that there will ever be a 3rd one, when this one already took a Nintendo to save it?

all i'm saying is that your logic of "don't do it, so next game will be multiplat", is well flawed. but then again i know you're just joking, so that's ok.

if it doesn't have online, then yes i agree. Nintendo should be looking into this. More and more people are demanding some sort of online content where it would be appropriate. Nintendo Land would have been more awesome if it had online play; heck even Wii Sports would have been awesome (more) with online play.

although i'm quite hopeful that in time Nintendo will be supporting more online gameplay, especially with their first-party games. they're doing it for Mar...

i agree it is a good feature. i'm just not sure it'd be common for someone to buy two versions of the same game. maybe it's just me, but if it were me, i'd either wait for the PS4 version, or get the PS3 one, and when PS4 comes out wait for FIFA 15; coz it's pretty obvious there's gonna be '15, with enhanced graphics, physics, etc.

EDIT:
ok, i didn't see your "trade" in the PS3 for a PS4 version -- however, it's still not...

i can't imagine using this feature, unless i want to buy FIFA 14 on PS3, then buy another FIFA 14 on PS4 and use my "save" to continue my game. but why would i buy 2 versions of FIFA 14? if you've bought FIFA 14 on your current console, would you really buy another FIFA 14 for your next-gen console?

i'm not sure if it's common also to share your save files for a FIFA game to your friends.

exactly why i don't want EA to buy Atlus. to be honest, most of the major 3rd parties nowadays would not be a good option either.

3960d ago 2 agree1 disagreeView comment

i can't believe what people are saying here: "if Nintendo buys Atlus, it will destroy Persona..."

that logic is just so immature. if the only way -- and i'm not saying it is -- to save Atlus is for Nintendo to buy it, would you rather have Atlus die out into obscurity, than have a company Nintendo buy it? for what, simply because you believe Nintendo will "destroy" the Persona series? jeez...

now, should Nintendo buy Atlus? if it w...

also, just to add, Pikmin 2 had about 4 days on it's first week. Pikmin three's record of 92K+ is only for 2 days. so taking into account the sales of on a per days basis, Pikmin 2 would have sold about 40K/day, while Pikmin 3 is 45K+/day.

another thing to consider is that digital download and sales are not accounted for here. so in effect, Pikmin 3 may have outsold Pikmin 2, and we'll know more about it's performance in the coming weeks.

Pokemon Rumble U anyone? :D

@gaffyh, you do know that Fire Emblem is a Nintendo IP right? so even if Sony buys Atlus, they still wouldn't get Fire Emblem.
