sad, and at the same time glad that those IPs have been taken in by other companies, which means there's still hope for those IPs.
for Nordic, yes they may not be the best publisher out there, but who knows, they're a publishing company so they can license to other developers which means the game can still be developed by quality devs. and you have to admit, Nordic did a better job surviving the gaming industry better than THQ.
oh. whatever happened ...
glad to hear Wii U getting indie love.
as a nintendo fan, even i would agree this article is just flamebait. as much as I love nintendo consoles, I also respect other consoles and even appreciate the games I can play on them.
for me, it would be better to consider the pros of each over the other and appreciate what each console can do.
No, because otherwise we'd be buying only $400-$500 consoles.
but seriously, the last thing Nintendo's gonna do is give up on the console business.
Do you honestly believe Sony will keep making Uncharted games 10 years from now?
- if there's still a big market for Uncharted games 10 years from now, then it's not a far-fetched idea. some time along, they may "re-boot" the game, just coz they can.
as with my response to millzy, big game companies are driven by sales. if something sells well, they will continue to make something out of it.
i agree that nostalgia contribut...
exactly what i was thinking. a lot of people hate nintendo for supposedly "milking" the same characters, when in fact 10-20 years from now, assuming Sony, Microsoft, EA, Ubisoft or any of the big game publishers are still in business and their IP's still popular, we'll most likely be seeing more Halos, Uncharted, GOW, BF, COD, Assassin's Creed, etc.
these companies unfortunately are headed by business people. and not all of 'em are into "creati...
OMG! a SUPER SECRET document that leaked over 4Chan... really, "SUPER SECRET"?
oh well, at least some of it has already been confirmed.
freezing can occur on consoles (and PCs), especially if it hasn't been turned off for a long time (left on standby mode or sleep mode), because the unit doesn't usually free up it's memory cache and other temporary memory storage properly. in the end, for PC's for example, you get the blue screen (in my experience, Windows-based PC's), or memory dump screens. XBox has been popular with the RROD, because of heating issues -- this is of course the worst thing that could happ...
for the record, it's a 1-week delay, and only in EU. they just probably need more time to do localization changes for the Wii U version.
i don't believe Disney "closed" Lucasarts per se. the reports said, Disney will only restructure what Lucasarts as a company is doing. so basically, they removed the in-house development part, and focused mainly on the licensing of its properties, which means they get to license other devs to do the development of games.
still sad though, as it meant people losing jobs.
When's the next Playorc coming out?
Best Buy Canada... the other day it's "Batman Arkham Origins" to be made by WB Montreal...
my guess is it's gonna be done by either Ubisoft Montreal, and/or any other Canadian-based studio... Hey, Bandai Namco's opened up a new studio in Canada, so must be something new from them. whatever it is, I hope it's worth the time i made this comment here.
-Both Systems will be cannibalizing the same audience?
-And share most of the same Ports ( Ports that will also be on previous systems PS360)?
totally agree with you. my brother and i have been discussing this also, and one of the main issue we see with the way Sony and MS are designing their console to be virtually "PC's" in terms of architecture, power and specs, is the fact that they are basically as what you mentioned, "cannibalizing" the ...
act'ly for me it doesn't matter how many 3rd parties support the Wii U. all those listed by lilbroRx is plenty enough. and he didn't even include 2nd party like Retro and Monolith Studios.
oh yeah, you won't get BF4 on the Wii U -- or. maybe Dead Island, or The Elder Scrolls, but those are games best experienced on a PC gaming rig anyway. yes, Madden 25 won't be coming to the Wii U, but we all know the main reason EA's not bringing many games to the Wi...
cool! hope they turn out more games...
i love every Splinter Cell iteration (yes, even Conviction). and seeing that this will be on Wii U, means I may get the Wii U version instead.
good news!
i believe Pikmin 3 will show how a strategy game can be good on the Wii U. hopefully it will pave the way for more creative devs who can come up with either RTS or TBS for the Wii U.
and maybe, just maybe Blizzard decide to port Starcraft 2 on on the Wii U.
they had to. it's not like they're doing a new franchise. the story will still be set in generally the same area.
anyway, they've consulted Rocksteady for the game mechanics and technicalities, so I hope they do a good job of taking on this next Batman Arkham game.
have this for PC, and it was bleh...
