"But I do wonder about the Wii U – it seemed to be a kind of reaction to SmartGlass."

- and I quote from PM's words. a reaction to SmartGlass, really PM? when pretty much the development of Wii U's gamepad came even before SmartGlass was thought of. jeez... first he says XBox will win the next gen, then backpedals when the announcement of XBone got negative feedback. that "negative feedback" is even an understatement. what a douche!

well it's gonna be their first and will be experimental... i'm pretty sure if things go well, we'll be seeing more. although I highly doubt it's gonna be based on Mario or Pokemon as mentioned; but then again who knows, maybe this is how Pokemon MMO will come to be.

F-Zero perhaps... he didn't say Mario, so could be anything... and when nintendo was asked before about f-zero, they hinted a possibility, so who knows... as long as it gets announced soon-ish..

what's wrong was that people (i admit, including me) was much too hyped and believed that Retro was gonna come up with either a proper sequel to Metroid, a new IP, or perhaps any other title, considering that DKCR was their last game for the Wii. Retro did not give any hint as to what they were working before, so everyone was speculating.

however, having had a deeper look into the the new DKCRTF, i'm still glad they came up with this, as so far only Retro (apart from ...

same here... used to love COD, BF and practically most FPS... but now, i find too meh... i still play them, but not so much as before.

although i still love shooters, now i prefer the ones that let me think like tactical shooters, or RPGs like Mass Effect or Deus Ex. lately, i've also been going back to RPGs like Fire Emblem Awakening, and Tales of the Abyss; and also surprisingly, loving the Resident Evil Revelations compared to the RE5 and RE6. on top of that, I enjoy l...

this statement comes from an analyst.

however, Ubisoft did say they will continue to support Wii U, but indeed they will decrease the support until sales pick up. also there's a latest report saying that what it actually means is they may not do any Wii U exclusive game for now (so Zombi U 2 may not come sooner), but will be supporting them with multiplatform games. they also noted that developing for Wii U is actually cheaper when compared to developing for PS4 and/or Xb...

i admit, i was also disappointed with this. but at the same time i did enjoy Super Mario 3D land on the 3DS; so in the long run, it's not bad at all. and with DKC:TF and MK8 november 2013 and early next year, respectively; Super Smash Bros. looking well "smashing"; X looking good and will be open-world; Bayonetta 2 also looking good. i'm still hyped.

not to mention, that they haven't shown the Zelda U yet (not the wind waker hd), and that Shin Megami Te...

I'm a PC gamer for most AAA, and a Nintendo fan. so i'm going for....... PS4. ha ha

but really, my combo in no particular order of preference is PC/PS4/Wii U. oh yeah, count my 3DS in also.

well Sony just announced PS4 starting at $399. so that pretty much burst MS's bubble...

rumors suggest though that PS4 will have 3 SKU's ranging from $399-599, so we'll have to wait and see if it's true.

you know guys, if you really hate COD; why continue playing it?

KnucklesX2 has a point. every year, you hear complaints about the game being this and that, yet it always sell millions. the cycle pretty much continues.

i myself feel that over the last few COD titles, pretty much every iteration seem to be the same. but i still find the time to play it, and just go on with life. i do have my complaints, but usually more on the gameplay aspect; graphically, i am...

if you've ever played spin the bottle with friends then, that's basically it. it's a game that encourages you to turn off the tv (but not the Wii U -- only the TV screen), gather around with friends and play spin the bottle. typically you spin the bottle, get paired up with someone, and do certain tasks (tasks can either be awkward, but cool if paired with the opposite sex). preferably a drunken party game, but getting wasted is optional for later :D

we should give credit to Sega. it does look more like the cancelled Sonic Extreme; i can fully understand the comparison with SMG, partly because a) it's exclusive to the Wii U (timed or not, it's still exclusive for now); b) Super Mario Galaxy became a fully-realized game which showed elements of speed, gravity mechanics, physics, etc. leaving a more lasting impression, compared to a game that was cancelled and only appeared in some gameplay clips; and finally c) new moves that are ...

this is good news for Nintendo. you guys have to read the whole Iwata Asks session for N.E.R.D. these are the same guys who made a video codec for use with the Game Boy (or was it advance), that even Nintendo was amazed how they achieved such video quality for that handheld's limited hardware capability.

why not combine the good elements of Galaxy (1 and 2), Sunshine, and RPG. And make it open-world and/or use the NFC for add-on characters or items (just make it optional though).

for NFC features, just make it so that some collectibles will be easier to get with them, but not necessary that you won't be able to complete the game 100% without them. so without certain NFC-items, some collectibles will be harder to get.

what you say actually makes sense. for one, Sony's stance on used games is already unclear: only saying it's up to the developers. in this case, clearly EA (the way they "support" the Xbone) prefers this used games policy of Xbone.

to add to this conspiracy theory (if one may call it that - pun intended): shortly before Xbone reveal, EA announced they will stop using online passes. perfect timing? i think not, obviously they already know what MS will announ...

well, in a way it will revolutionize cable tv, you can now change channels by simply talking to it, cool huh! Wii U only lets you do that by using the gamepad, but Xbone lets you "talk" to it. heck, Xbox Two is rumored to even let you trash talk it, get you coffee and have sex with you.

it has also shocked the world; well it has certainly shocked UK, enough for people to get a Wii U.

i don't believe there's anything wrong with Xbone catering to TV; this kind of evolution is in fact not a bad thing. Nintendo's done with it with the TVii (at no extra cost, to add); and I'm pretty sure Sony will have something similar (although they may just stick to the basics: Netflix, Hulu, etc. -- as Sony's also manufacturing Smart TV's with practically the same functions).

i do think however the problem is, with the way MS handled and conveyed th...
