@shutupandtakemymoney ... i think your logic is not correct. the comparison is between Wii U vs. PS3 + Vita... of course you can't bring the Wii U gamepad to the park, that's because it's not a separate portable device; it's supposed to work with the whole system as one console. now if the comparison was between Wii U + 3DS vs. PS3 + Vita, then your argument wouldn't mean anything coz both the Vita and 3DS you can bring to the park.

now going back to the t...

i don't believe Nintendo will offer money for exclusivity deal for GTA V. i can think of a couple of reasons for this:

1. Unlike Bayonetta 2 that was dropped by SEGA, GTA V is not a game developed by a company that is in the same state as B2. Bayonetta 2 wouldn't even exist if Nintendo did not step in.

2. GTA has been multiplatform since, so going exclusive now won't make any sense, as it will just alienate fans.

3. Nintendo, alth...

Wii U, being a successor to Wii legitimizes it being a next-gen console. It doesn't matter what specs it has, Nintendo could have put a 8086 processor in it and it will still be the next generation after the Wii.

if specs would be the only basis of "next-gen" then PC would be the ultimate console then. its generation changes so rapidly that as gamernova mentioned, PC has 4K capable graphic cards out now. if Sony/MS does support 4K with their next console, they w...

print magazines are dying because everything's going digital nowadays because of tablets and smartphones. so publishers really have no choice but to adapt to the times.

i just hope Nintendo will offer a digital magazines or perhaps ebooks in eShop (Japan will have 'em)... the gamepad would really be nice for that...

a proper zelda movie would have to be one that don't go the Super Mario Bros. way... come to think of it, most of the video games-to-movie transitions have been mediocre, if not bad/worse (some became blockbuster hits of course, but failed their fanbase).

i just hope the MGS, GOW and Assassin's Creed movie would live up to everyone's expectations.

as an old school gamer who grew up on the NES and Genesis before moving on to PC gaming, I don't always go for FPS. I used to love FPS after playing the first MOH, and the early COD series, because of the "story". but nowadays, it's a mix of shooters, RPGs, platforming, adventure, puzzle, and yes even the casual games.

a sniper game where in co-op mode, the who uses the gamepad is the spotter... and the other with a wii remote is the shooter... or perhaps two gamepads, again one spotter, the other one shooter...

or you can use the gamepad as a supplementary controller (main controller would be the pro controller; use the gamepad to control drones, maps, or an over-all tactical tool...

EDIT: would also be great for JRPGS, well RPG's in general...

i don't any of the 3 to fail... in fact, i'm hoping for each to succeed on their own merits... the fact is, the big 3 are establishing a competitive market; not to mention making sure the console will always be relevant.

losing any 1 of them will be a big blow to the console market. what happens when only one of them survives? you have only 1 company dictating the prices of their console and games. of course the scenario is unlikely to happen, but i'm just sayin&#...

he's talking about their experience based on WiiWare...

... something that the new eShop will hopefully Nintendo improve on.

EDIT: I was gonna say that the headline makes you think he's talking about the current state of things. Well in a way he was; but i find the title a bit misleading.

although I doubt it that Sony will give up their console division; you have to admit that Sony's been reporting loss from their consoles for years now ( $1+ Billion loss ever since they dropped the price to compete with the other consoles --- it fared better than their other products though). vita hasn't been selling well either.

however, it would be bad if Sony does bow out. bad for the market. coz it would mean less competition; less choices. and with that possibly ...

from what i understand, EA DICE decided not to port BF3 to Wii U (although it was originally planned to be ported).

probably because they're busy working on BF4, which according to rumors may be the one that will be released on Wii U (of course multiplatform with other consoles).

anyway, if you still wish to wait for ps4, no problem with that...

and knowing Retro, they would be the best studio to "help" other studios with the Wii U. for sure, Retro's got a lot up in their sleeves with how the Wii U works. and spreading the love to other studios would greatly benefit not only Retro and Nintendo, but the other studios as well.

now let's just hope Retro's cooking up something on their own. can't wait to hear some new game news from Retro.

i kinda understood how some people are upset about bayonetta 2 (except for the overzealous "kill" reactions to platinum games). but this one is just plain fanboyism stupidity.

like what mamotte said; whatever Nintendo does with Wii U, there will always be outrage. Outrage from fanboys. if you don't wanna buy a Wii U, fine, that's your choice. Yes, you'll miss the chance to play BLOPS2 in Full HD, but hey, once the next PS360 comes out, you'll most li...

c'mon guys, it hasn't stopped people from soft-modding region-locked consoles to become region-free... anyways "tweaking" the PSP/Vita practically means it's also region-locked when you buy it.

region-locking is something driven by "business". devs companies prefer it. of course gamers don't want it. heck, even i hated the...

if Nintendo plays its cards right, yes they can. there are obvious hurdles, but the possibility is always there.

the way I see it right now, and based on news coming from multiple sources, Nintendo's still on the right track on this.

it's possible. in japan, Nikkei's reported that 3DS will get an ebook service from Librica called Bookstore Anywhere, with the app launching on Oct. 20th with about 100 mangas to start with.

so it's not a farfetched idea if Nintendo decides to open eShop to similar digital content for the Wii U.
