You know something's up when N4G submitters can spell better than Lens of Truth. I don't need a Frist look. I saw enough of Bill Frist in the last decade.
Companies often extol the benefits of a new partnership in order to let people know what was wrong about the old business. They won't just trash old management or dump on the past. Infer what you will from their statement that id isn't being rushed now that they're with Zenimax.
Well, if rumors are any indication, they'll be running idTech 5 (the Rage engine) for their next Elder Scrolls. Hopefully that's both true and pays off!
Thanks, CG, but I'd rather not think about Jim Sterling's reviews at all!
Actually, this is a pretty nice review. I think it sums up what's awesome about it without gushing, while noting its shortcomings without raging.
Where on Earth are you reading that Ars said it wasn't fun?
"The plot is pure insanity, the characters are cardboard cut-outs, and the action is bliss for any fan of big guns and bigger explosions. By the time my assault rifle and heavy machine gun were maxed out and I was able to take out three enemies as I slid across the floor, I was willing to forgive the game's many flaws and annoying boss battles. I'm not sure if the game knows it's the equivalent o...
Eh, edit. I'm not a fan of my own sarcasm.
Basically, people should be open to different kinds of content, and parents should be the gate between kids and content. No one's getting Peace in the Middle East by censoring Call of Duty or banning Bayonetta. It'll cost everyone less to not worry about this stuff.
He's thinking of Kamiya. Mikami is also part of Platinum, but he didn't do Bayonetta.

That's okay; he just had his names confused.
Honestly, that's a great way of reaching out to Kinect's target audience. An audience that watches Oprah daily. The message that Microsoft is getting across is that Kinect is kinda like the Twilight novels, or movies with Sandra Bullock. It's not for me, not for anyone that reads gaming news or reviews, but it works for a completely different demographic group, and whatever, that's fine. Let the moms be moms, let kids pet Skittles, and we can keep playing awesome games some...
I'm guessing we'll see a PS3 US release. They'll certainly have enough of a niche audience at the very least that will eat this up, plus a bunch of people that loved Studio Ghibli in the past but didn't necessarily buy every RPG out there. So long as there's a bit of marketing, it'll sell.
The DS version... now that's up in the air. It's much more traditional than the PS3 one, it obviously has less impressive graphics, and Japan may still ...
No kidding, that's hilarious! I guess we'll have to see whether or not the review code has seen some improvements; Dead Nation got a 7/10 with them on the preview code. Then again, Gamereactor has been known to be a tough rater in general.
Still, I wonder if there really was "miscommunication" on that one. The original review sure got me clicking.
All we've heard so far is that gameplay includes running from demons in nightmares. It's a lot of running. And sheep. That's about all we know, unfortunately.

Yeah, I feel like he just can't get over the years of awful that Sega had generated around Sonic, and you know what? That would have been a bit more ameliorated if they released an entire game instead of episodic content. If you had the whole thing to attack in one go, getting all the way to the end, hopefully where the gameplay would shine the most, it would be awesome. Instead, you basically get the promise of another short game.
Seriously, not getting this until t...
A complete game? Really? Take another look at FF12 one day. See if you can find the gigantic gaping hole in the game. It's somewhere between beating Doctor Cid and Doctor Cid beating you over the head with a contrived plot device. It's painfully, agonizingly obvious that someone cut a good portion of story from the plot due to the jarring change of pace.
"Here's an awesome, political, slowly developing narrative. It's super different from what we'...
I'm pretty excited that Rock Band 3 is getting some positive feedback. There have been so many unnecessary iterations on music titles in the past couple of years, and it looks like this isn't one of them! Can't wait.
Any insane reactions to this are unwarranted. Jaffe defended GOW and praised Bayonetta for being two very different games with different goals, and it's true. Play both of those games- GOW titles focus on moving you through an engaging story, and it's awesome. Bayonetta wants you to enjoy the more advanced fighting system and the fast and furious gameplay- the story is just an excuse for the awesome game to exist. He's right, and both games are great.
Wow, bigotry? You're talking to a dude who's on his second playthrough of Eternal Sonata and his first on Mother 3. Loving them both. My most anticipated game of the holiday season is Pac-Man CE DX. There's no hate there whatsoever, but there are cultural differences between different areas of the globe that need to be acknowledged so far as they exist, if that's what you're referring to in the first place (re: Metroid: Other M.)
Look, people didn'...
"Seriously ... mirror puzzles in the year 2010? Why don't we all start riding horse-drawn carriages again while we're at it?"
Um... http://www.youtube.com/watc... . That was a pretty enjoyable mirror puzzle. Also, not that old.
Your stuff's in quotes, mine isn't:
"No it's not.Soldiers who are at the bottom of the chain have to go by orders given to them by superiors. that has nothing to do with japanese culture. This is MILITARY structure in every country out there."
Chain-of-command stuff is all well and good, but it felt much more like these types of military ideas (PTSD included) were used as plot devices to make Samus more submissive and afraid. Consid...
Calm the frack down, people. This isn't a "victory" for anyone but big businesses in general. This announcement isn't "for gamers," it's for giant corporations, and it's only about shareholders.
If you read the article, it shows that NPD says this is a change in "corporate publishing guidelines." What this means is that NPD just got away with not revealing *why* there was a change in the guidelines.

Look, I'm in the camp that understood the bugs that came with Oblivion/Fallout 3 and still absolutely loved the games. In Oblivion, I lost my best suit of armor when it became wedged within a wall of the local Fighter's Guild building after not saving for quite a while (yeah, I know, what was I thinking?), and still loved the heck out of it. I'm still a bit miffed that we never got the ability to apply mods on PS3. Whatever. Still anxiously awaiting the next game, because it wa...
