Developed by Embark Studios The Finals was released near the end of 2023, and took the gaming world by storm. The game’s popularity dropped after an initial hype and the player count dwindled drastically from its best days. Despite this, the game is still fully supported by the developers with constant updates and in-game content.
In a game set as a televised arena show, players take the roles of contestants and battle other teams for fame and glory. Every contestant in the game can be customized, with three different Builds at your disposal. Moreover, every Build in the game comes with there unique specializations, gadgets, as well as ranged and melee weapon options. Furthermore, all arenas in the game support fully destructible environments, making for very explosive and exciting games.

Can you play The Finals on PS4?
No, unfortunately, you cannot play The Finals on PlayStation 4. If you want to play The Finals on a console you must do it on PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S. Due to the destructive nature of the game, current-gen consoles and PCs were the focus during game development. Most certainly this is not something that PS4 owners would like to hear. However, switching to a newer version of the PlayStation console is the only option to play the game.
Will The Finals be released on PS4 in the future?
There is no official information from the developers that they are working on a PS4 version of the game. Moreover, Embark Studios has not announced any plans to bring the game to an older version of the PlayStation console in the future.
Over the years we have noticed that if the game is successful it will get ported to the older version of the consoles eventually. On the other hand, because The Finals was developed using the latest Unreal Engine 5, it is unlikely that we will see the port any time soon, if ever. Sadly, the PS4 hardware is old now and it would struggle to keep up with the demands of the game.
