Dedicated Helldivers Did the Impossible, Surprising the Community and Devs

It looks like Helldivers achieved the impossible. No one believed that they would be able to succeed at 10 Defense Campaigns, but they proved everyone wrong.

After a speedrun-like victory over the Terminids, where the players had to kill two billion of them, the current Major Order requires Helldivers to defend 10 planets, across the galaxy. And, over time, it came down to the majority of players fighting on the Terminid front, while most Defense Campaigns were in the Automaton-controlled sectors. As the players were already fed up with all the Automaton missions, especially Civilian Escort missions, and having defended only 4/10 planets a few days ago, everyone expected that this Major Order would fail.

Only One Planet Remained With Less Than a Day to Go

It seems that Helldivers would not back down without a fight. On April 24, Arrowhead proclaimed that the Terminid offensive had been completely stopped and only a couple of Automaton planets were under attack.

“Though the Terminids attempted to spark an uprising on the neighboring planet Fori Prime as their hold on Oshaune weakened, a quick response from our forces put down this threat before it could culminate into a major attack. It would seem that, for now, the Terminid offensive has been halted.” said Spitz, one of Arrowhead’s Community Managers, on Helldivers 2 official Discord server.

Call to Arms to Defend Ustotu

A general call to arms was made. These victories have inspired Helldivers to give all they got. Only the planet Ustotu remains. Helldivers everywhere flocked to defend this planet, and the hype was real, as seen in one Reddit post. A player named TheQuixotic6 made a post calling all Helldivers to action, with lots of players “reporting for duty”.

Players chimed in, with Unfair_Pirate_647 jokingly saying: “The community has just been completing Major orders that are seemingly impossible just to spite the Devs…” Others ask for some recognition for doing this, like one player asking for a cape, alluding to the time everyone got a special cape for finally liberating Malevelon Creek.

Helldivers 2 Players Did the Unthinkable

At the moment of writing this, the Major Order is no longer available. Planet Ustotu is 100% liberated. The Order was supposed to last for a few more hours and that means only one thing. Helldivers managed to successfully defend 10 planets.

The reward for this is 50 Medals, but that is nothing compared to the fact this seemingly impossible task was completed, with hours to spare. Now, we can only guess what Joel has in store for us now. Maybe a new threat is on the horizon? We shall see in a couple of hours. The valiant Helldivers did the impossible once, and we can do it again.
