Although the game itself is awesome, some players like adding mods to further enhance their Fallout 4 experience. Mods can add new character customization options and skins for your Pip-Boy, or enhance your general gameplay with organization tools, faster trading, and the like. How to Install and Use Mods in Fallout 4 on PC
Installing mods on a PC takes a couple of steps, but it’s not complicated. But after these steps you will have your mod station up and running, allowing you to easily get new mods in the future.
- First, go to NexusMods and create a free account there.
- After that, you should download and install a mod manager, and the majority of players prefer Vortex Mod Manager (and is on the same website as NexusMods). It allows you to quickly set up and switch your mods and is closely integrated with NexusMods. It also has an auto-sorting system, so your mods do not come into conflict with each other.
- The next one is optional but we highly recommend it. From NexusMods look for the Mod Configuration Menu (MCM). This mod will enable you to access your mods from the in-game pause menu.
- Now pick any mod that you like from NexusMods and download it. Install it using the Mod Manager, and you can enable and disable it in-game via the MCM.
Bear in mind that removing mods may impact your save games and cause them to go haywire, so be sure to have a couple of different save files, just in case.
Fallout 4: How to Set up Mods on Consoles
Contrary to PC, installing mods on consoles is a no-brainer. In Fallout 4’s main menu, there is a Mods tab. Select it, find a mod that you like, and download it using the game’s interface. A walk in the park, compared to adding mods to PCs.
