Helldivers 2: What is the Medal Cap

The Medal cap in Helldivers 2 is 250 Medals. Any Medals that you earn beyond that point are unfortunately going to waste. So be sure that you spend all your Medals, to prevent that. If you have already unlocked everything there is to unlock, you can just stockpile Medals until the next Warbond is released.

Can You Increase the Maximum Medal Cap?

At the moment, there is no way to increase the maximum Medal capacity. It is capped at 250, and that is final. Regarding future updates, it is not impossible that the devs decide to increase the cap. They have done so with the Level cap.

But, it may be that the Medal cap is like that on purpose. That is to prevent players from unlocking everything as soon as a new Warbond is released. The devs probably want the players to feel like they’re gradually progressing, and not to instantly unlock everything.
