Once again, Helldivers 2 fans have expressed their dissatisfaction. The problem this time is none other than the increase in patrols and spawn rate. Players have noticed that it’s almost impossible to win a mission due to the increased patrols and spawn rate. This particularly applies to smaller teams or solo players, who don’t even stand a chance against the bots. The problem might have gone unnoticed by the developers, but fans took to social media and called them out. In response, developers decided to fix their mistake and make Helldivers 2 fans happy.

Helldivers 2 Community Manager Explains the Fix

Everyone’s favorite Community Manager, The_Real_Twinbeard, announced on Reddit: “We’re changing patrols and spawn rate (reverting)”. He went on to explain that “something has been off with patrols and spawn rate for some time now”. The increase led to “players feeling overrun, kiting, and subsequently less fun gameplay”.

Many wondered why the developers hadn’t addressed the issue sooner. He stated: “The past couple of weeks have been so hectic that we haven’t been able to give this the TLC that it required”. This is probably referring to the release of Polar Patriots Warbond, as well as the controversy following it.

Twinbeard also reflected on the recent testing demands. He said: “We also know you want us to do things and changes properly instead of rushing them, and we do as well. Therefore, implementing this will take some time. We want to give it proper testing and review it … ah heck, simply see that it works this time”. In a lovely manner, Twinbeard concluded: “Even if this means we’re faced with more bugs and bots than even the bravest of citizens would deem realistic for a while longer, we hope you’re happy with us fixing the problem. Onwards and upwards!”

Helldivers 2 Community Knows It Takes a Lot of Courage to Admit Mistakes

This gesture delighted most of the players. Reddit threads are overflown with messages of support to the developers. TrueGap861 took a quick moment to “spontaneously appreciate how the Arrowhead dev team and community managers have been handling such a passionate fan base”. They said: “Most game companies would’ve crumbled under the pressure already but even with the odds stacked against them they’ve been pulling through”.

Dinkenflika chimed in: “Another win for democracy! Most of us divers have gotten so accustomed to the latest enemy onslaught that we are going to be extra-vigilant in our planet liberation after the spawn-rate gets corrected”.

As expected, some people expressed their concerns about other features as well. A user, risingsunball, complained: “Doing a diff 7 mission and getting multiple striders dropped on top of the objective while the 50 berserkers are killing any civilians who are trying to extract. I hope this gets fixed with those changes to bot patrol spawning because trying to do any kind of those extraction missions at higher difficulty levels is like pulling out teeth”.

You might have to wait a while for a patch, but it seems it’ll be worth your while. We all have to keep in mind that the developers behind any game are human as well. They will make mistakes occasionally. Being willing to admit and fix those mistakes is what separates the greats from the others. This is the third time in a week or so that someone from Arrowhead reached out and reassured their fans. They are doing a great job and listening to their fans. We hope they keep it up. Until then: Onwards and upwards!
