With Wii u being the "worst console ever" it will be interesting to see how Sony and Microsoft try and copy what they are doing.
All the people bad mouthing the Wii U, are people who don't own it and have never experienced it first hand outside of a kiosk, and have no life of any substance. Trying to compare the $350 Wii U to a $800 iPad is just silly and immature, and clearly is a comparison from someone who has never experianced the Wiiu. Nintendo dares to different something different, and offer experiences that can only be had with Nintendo.

people like Pachter are a problem for the industry. Sure I understand his job is to guide investors on what are good places to place their money, but it also produces the mindset of if its not COD its going to lose money. Analyst for whatever reason have no vision of the future they only know what has worked in the past. That's why there are so many sequels.
Nintendo will always be a company that will baffle analyst because they are not conventional and they create their own mark...

I would like to see how many households added the Xbox. I know it's only anecdotal but everytime I hear someone getting one this late in the cycle its a replacement. Which is undetstandable since they are tied to the system with game libraries and friends.
if it wasn't for motion controls I would have never played games like Metroid Prime, or any fps. I could never get the level of control I wanted using dual analog sticks. With that said motion controls made great games I would have otherwise ignored due to not enjoying the controls, accessible to me. I could'nt have said it better myself. Nintendo understands the hardware business. I don't buy consoles because they are uber powerful. Cutting edge graphics will always hands down be the PC's strength. Nintendo focuses on ways to play that can only be achieved on a Nintendo while remaining affordable and profitable.
Was Uncharted 2 or 3 (great games by the way) launch titles? Give the Wii U some time you won't be disappointed.
@Samusfan I own multiple consoles but I bought Blops2 for the Wii U just for the Wiimote controls.
The 1st Playstation controller didn't have analog sticks, it was later that the Sony released an upgraded controller with dual analogs sticks.
The only defining factor of the Wii U will be the games that are released on it. That being said, Nintendo has already stressed third party support is important for this generation of their console, to think that they would release a system incapable of running multiplats with some parity to it's competition's next generation consoles is just silly.
Nintendo introduced the directional pad, and rumble pack, as well as popularized analog control with Mario 64. Nintendo greatest strength in my opinion is developing new ways to play games. With each new console release for Nintendo the controller, is part of the main attraction.
The article was pretty much on point. I also think Nintendo serves the industry better being an innovator instead of just trying to produce the most powerful console.
I've enjoyed gaming since 1985 and I guess I have taken it for granted not everyone who games just do it for the enjoyment. Beating up on a product that you don't have to buy, look at, or pay attention to, really makes me envy other peoples free time.
