Wow. At first I thought "Why would you play a game where you're in the worst situation ever and everything's trying to kill you?" Then I realized that you'd be looking at someone that had it worse than you! Add the addictive gameplay and you've got a winner.
Stage 5-2 might not be for anyone with a stomach bug, however...
That was an extremely rough fight! Good choice.
I like that someone actually wrote this article, but boy does it have problems. For example, Flame Mammoth does not emit an "elephantitis noise." How does one even begin to attempt to make such a thing? Maybe he was looking for "elephantine" but the spellchecker changed it? Ugh.
My favorite MMX bosses were probably Agile (both forms) and Sigma's last form from X2, but I could see how they don't necessarily count here. They're not "sta...
Awesome story. That kind of game would be perfect to just put in a gameboy and feature at a museum... if you allowed people to play it for a long, long, long time.
Relax. This can't be the full list. Capcom would not put out this game without Megaman being front and center; he's a cash cow, he'll draw many non-hardcore fighting gamers to the game.
Remember that in Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, we had Zero, and this game supposedly has Zero. There's no trend indicating that Capcom would view MM as a side character that the biggest fans would only know about and then buy through DLC - they need to focus on selling the game to as...
Music really is the glue that binds me to a good game. It can color my perception of how great the game is overall. To me (full disclosure - classical musician here), the overall sound design is as important as the overall graphics, and the soundtrack is as important as the visual art direction.
For example, I really don't think I would have appreciated FFXIII so much if I wasn't a fan of the music, but it's definitely on my list of favorite orchestrated game sou...
I'm really excited about RE:R after reading this, due to how great the graphics seem to be. I'd also like to stop reading articles about viewing 3DS demos and actually see some people get a shot at playing these newer and more complex games made specifically for the system.
It's really not a bad thing, as Nintendo probably announced their system quite early on in the development process, but I'm just impatient. I want to know how this thing controls. If it&...
I agree, but it's a tough thing to do when you're more a business than a truth-giving organization.
For example, much of the traffic given to these review sites comes from Metacritic. People see the score and a few sentences, and they click on the link if they want to read further. The system itself isn't any good, sure, we can make that argument, but how do you reject the Metacritic system while keeping your fairweather readers (aka consumers of advertisements ...
Not really a fake so much as it is a proposal or prototype. MS did some banner to all their products for some new campaign (see the Engadget article), and they're testing it on us. They definitely wanted this stuff to be released to the public virally, and they're looking for signs in the tech community for whether they love it or hate it.
To me, all of this looks a bit too Apple-y. It's like once again they're apologizing that they're 10 years behind A...
"-Not saying if Ganon is in yet"
Is Nintendo *still* trying to keep up suspense over whether or not Ganon is in a marquee Zelda game? They're funny people.
Actually, I think it would be pretty cool if Ridley showed up instead, but whatever.
Mikami has stated that Casshern was used as the main influence on the visual style, and I don't think that it'll stop with the design of the characters. Once we see more of the complete game in action, we'll start seeing more interesting environments. This guy was behind games with some of the most interesting environmental art design, and I don't think he'll disappoint with the final product.
I'm on the fence about this. I'm a Castlevania fan, but not really a puzzle fan. When I first saw it, I was really looking forward to it, but the seemingly stagnant and borrowed images from SotN made me think that the appropriate amount of work may not have been poured into this game.
Any first-hand impressions from N4G users? How are the controls? Is there enough in terms of music tracks?
Soda, I'm agreeing with you wholeheartedly for the first time ever. Castlevania games should not be compared to God of War games, as they're very different.
If Castlevania was "like God of War but better" or something, I'd flip my lid, because Castlevania needs to be much more than that. It needs to have some silly, wild story involving Dracula turning into a giant alien. It needs Gothic-esque rock/classical zombie-slashing musical themes! It needs a...
I'm really looking forward to GT5, regardless of what it does in comparison to other titles. The stuff I like about GT is very different than the stuff I like about... just about every other racer out there. I feel more like I'm playing Elder Scrolls, tuning up my car the way I'd tweak the stats for a blade-wielding Khajiit thief. I'm just happy that it'll be released soon.
What I don't care too much about is what this article's "discussing...
Word, Mastiff. People were grasping at "It does insane numbers" but didn't really understand what Thom was trying to say. There is a huge cult following for GT, regardless of your system preferences or whatnot.
I'm a GT fan for very different reasons than my being a fan of other titles in the genre (R4's my good old favorite) - the customization of what's under the hood and the seemingly visceral difference those customizations create on the road h...
Did you watch and listen to the video? The rasp is back. A slight decrease in rasp would definitely be canon, since Cole has had enough time outside of his transformative period; he's probably a bit less beaten-up and a bit stronger.
I like how I'm suddenly quantifying something like "Rasp" outside of FFIV, but that's how I felt about the video.
Dude. Market research is why they changed him back. Not N4G's opinions. If they served our opinions, they'd have some Mortal Kombat vs. PS3 vs. Xbox360 game by now. The fatalities would be hilarious.
Anyway, I welcome this change. They would have had one heck of a time keeping continuity the way Cole was acting in the first previews of I2. I felt more at home watching that preview, and thought that this was a sequel to the first Infamous.
I actua...
I would hope that, with a control set on who can buy M-rated games and who needs parental consent, that individual politicians would stop trying to completely ban games with content made for mature audiences. It's possible that an end to most of the fear of irrational political backlash would allow developers to be creative and bring their visions to life without having some "think of the children" or "decency" critics shouting in the back of their heads. Look at the...
Got it, thanks! Just wanted to know how that worked... to tell you the truth, I would be psyched if those games were coming "very soon!"
I want to play games that get me in a good mood when I'm sick. I also don't want to strain my neck to watch a TV for hours on end if I'm lounged out on a couch. Therefore, I'd say the only console games I'd play are the manic-depressive combination of We Love Katamari (or Katamari Forever) and Demon's Souls (thanks, Hellsvacancy - see above for why). After that, it's all handheld. DQ IX, the ridiculously-addictive and sunny Pokemon series, and Suikoden on the P...
