How can the lasting appeal be 3/10, you say? I have no clue, but since you've yet to play the game, and you're planning on buying it, I guess you'll figure it out. Have fun with that, and stop asking us.
I think the guy did that on his own accord, and since he works for them, he couldn't then sue because he posted his name on a forum. He put his name out there for everyone to see, and it's on him. Even though it's messy since he works for a company that's implementing a feature - a company with one heck of an overseeing demonic entity.
It sucks that he gets the crap end of the stick for being loyal to his organization, but it's all on him legally. Unles...
Whether "the followup" is the studio's next project or a sequel, Kojima really seems to be hinting at a new console announced at a future conference. My best guess is PSP2, but it could still be the 3DS - it's not like they could have used that tech to make a game *before* and the PW team put together the MGS3 demo.
1 YLOD, but an understandable one. It was one of the older systems, played it to bits, and the new system's environment is much more electronics-friendly.
0 RROD. Simply because I don't see the point in buying an Xbox360 unless I'm made of Benjamins. In which case I'll just peel a few off and visit my local game retailer, I guess. Rez HD, Ikaruga, and DeathSmiles, after all.
Isn't it funny, however, that we have no "of death" ...
Uh... Bomberman: Act Zero, Perfect Dark Zero, Too Human...
Sure, I'm talking about early 360 exclusives, but you're talking about early PS3 exclusives, so eh.
Point is, we've all got some exclusive skeletons in our console closets. However, I do think your initial comment was interesting. I wouldn't give SMG2 anything but a 10. Does that mean that the Wii has better exclusives overall? No with a capital NOOOOOO!
If we'...
"'I only have two choices for what to make: MGS5, or an original game,' Kojima said. 'As for ZOE and the rest, I'm sorry, but that kind of got pushed to the back burner.'"
In a way, that's alright. I'd like to see an original IP from Kojima.
...but the ZOE fan in me is screaming NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!
I'm really happy about this news, but what's with the N4G description? Level-5 - of Professor Layton fame? Are we really living in a world where that game's more important than Dragon Quest VIII?
Wow. I can't believe we ever lived without a badly written article about a mixture of sorta-new and really, really, really old emulators. Who does that? I haven't heard the name NESticle in years, and it sure hasn't changed.
And yeah, the guy really tries to cover his butt about it being legal, but he then provides links to sites that offer the ROMs. That in itself may still be fine-ish, I guess, but it's asking for trouble. He could have just as easily ...
This is really funny! He's basically admitting that he hears this all of the time, he wants to do it, but since he has other plans with his teams, he's never actually gotten around to doing so.
Personally, I would have loved Kojima's MGS4 team to have gone to ZOE instead of Peace Walker (and yes, I'm sure there were financial reasons why they couldn't do that), but there's a contingent of people who love that game, so it's good for them. I guess....
I don't think a new Sega console would do exceedingly well in the market right now, but I sure would like one.
The console would at least give Sega a reason to make some really good games - the refined arcade/console hybrid games they were both working on (Panzer Dragoon Orta, JSRF, Gunvalkyrie) and supporting (Ikaruga, Radiant Silvergun, Power Stone) back when they were all about awesome games.
Then again, they could just do a face heel turn and make s...
We care because it's thoughts from a top exec in the gaming business talking about a networked vision for future hardware development. It's a step in the direction of creating the PS4.
We like to read news. For gamers. You know, like the title of this site. If you don't like what you see here, in the words of Extreme, get the funk out.
In a way, I totally agree. He was great at what he did. However, the gaming market sure has grown since then, and organizations have flattened out and networked themselves more.
The more connected a company is to their many divisions and strategic partners these days, the better. The more Sony's hardware division is connected to their primary software creators, the better off they will be.
Sure, genius is still needed to create a great thing, but it ma...
"Who stops playing this game once they have started? Maybe when one is deleteriously affected by looking at a screen too long?"
"Just when you think you have obviated Dracula’s castle..."
Either this guy loves his thesaurus a bit too much, or he's just showing off. Either way, his writing style is an inappropriate exposition of hubris, the likes of which Agamemnon would not read to his foes due to there being more clement methods of w...
It's a promo, so you're going to see something like that to promote -shudder- Kinect. They're not going to have a label that says "Our camera isn't that good because we stripped it down from the Tel Aviv original, but you can use it with this game, I guess."
I think there would be some cases where it may work out that things are better with it - most likely stuff that only uses a controller, but might be open to voice commands. I could imagine an M...
I liked the review a bunch. You need to read it instead of going nuts over the score - Brad states in there that some of you may love this game, while others (like me) will not.
It's not my cup of tea, but after reading the review, I know a few people who will probably put some hours into it. Those guys are big Dead Rising fans and enjoy local multiplayer stuff. They'll love to just team up and mindlessly mow down freaks. I'm busy with Sin and Punishment 2 and...

Any Bombcast fans get that one?
The good thing about Giant Bomb is that you're sure the reviewers are just stating their own opinions and rating the games based on the experience they had with the game.
The reason why that's unique is that many of the big sites tend to read like exec committees are telling the reviewers what to do in many ways - address certain audiences, emphasize one thing more than another, and that restricts the prevalence of individual perspectives in a review. These guys def...
I agree with a couple of your dissenters, Spydr. Don't generalize PS3 developers as all trashing the 360. If you do, then prepare to hear about Turn 10.
Also, this car thing... your analogy could be taken quite a bit further:
"Yes, from a technical standpoint a Lexus LS > Honda Civic. However, there are still people who prefer the Civic over a Lexus. Many wealthy people (especially accountants) do drive less than luxurious cars because the car d...
Sounds like the title of a Manowar album! I'd pick up Metal of Honor over Medal of Honor any day of the week.
