Nearly forgot about that one! Yes! Agreed!

Dude, I love top 10 articles when they're done by decent writers, no matter how many come out. They're great conversation starters, and they let us take them further with our own opinions. I've gotta say, when I'm delving into any retro stuff I've missed, I'll look at top 10's for buying purposes.

Yeah, I'd say that MGS2 is the most qualified, but I lose a lot of people on that one. I'd classify the "ending" to MGS2 as everything that happens upon entering Arsenal Gear, not only after the gameplay stops.

I remember MGS4 more for screwing up my schedule. I thought I'd have a traditional ending, but instead I was glued to the TV for far, far too long. Sure, I was glued, which was great, but I wish there was an in-game way to stop watching it an...

"I concluded without a definition that satisfied me. I had to be prepared to agree that gamers can have an experience that, for them, is Art. I don't know what they can learn about another human being that way, no matter how much they learn about Human Nature. I don't know if they can be inspired to transcend themselves. Perhaps they can. How can I say?"

Yes, Ebert. How can you say -- you still haven't even mentioned Rez, while old videos of monster sho...

Bjorn, I'm assuming Ebert did not see the flaw in his argument - he intersperses nothing but pictures and videos of horror-genre shooters as his visual aids. I mean, I know Clive Barker was involved with other media, but Jericho is NOT anywhere near the crux of our argument.

It's like he's deliberately taking potshots while putting officially, on paper, that he understands that people have a problem with his argument.

Nice Duchamp reference!!

It was a low-tech phone that was directed solely toward social networking, and the most salient feature of the phone was that it was short and fat. News outlets actually thought that short-fat phones, starting with Kin, might be a trend that breaks up the Droid and iPhone market. Sounds like a great marketing idea to teens, until MS found out that teens are totally fine running social networking from Android, iOS, and BlackBerry systems. Oh, Microsoft. That was a good one.

Dude! No one is talking about Sin and Punishment: Star Successor? This needs to be fixed.

If you're not familiar with it, S&P2 is a ridiculously awesome and tough mashup of rail shooter and bullet-hell shmup. The soundtrack is amazing, the graphics are great in terms of fluidity and style, and the Wii controls just make sense. It fixes all the control problems of the N64 original in one fell swoop. Sure, the characters look like something that classic Battlestar G...

Hi AliTheBrit19,

Looks like you have a dissenting opinion, and that's fine. I guess you played the game, right? Would you like to back that 6 up with some content? We'd love to hear it. Maybe a link to a blog review you've already written?

Seriously. Do it up. I'm holding out on any disagrees or bubble votes, since it looks like you do have something to say.

Okay, "bear" with me, because this will seem like a stretch at first. It's a link from here to E3.

Would you prefer that a company invest their money into a creative department, spending their staff time and cash generating new IP based on target demographics, to the point of having to leave only a small budget to actually create the game? I sincerely hope not, because this game is a classic case.

This game contains some good new intellectual ...

This isn't just pro-Xbox, this is pro-BS. I have no clue why they'd give out most of these awards. Heck, Kirby gets stuck with best character design! Why? He's Kirby, but he's made out of yarn! What about the environment or game mechanics? You know, the things that are actually good about that game?

Wow. The value of their Best of E3 award just dropped significantly. That's pretty awful. I'm not too keen on Xbox, but I'd understand if it was another 360 game, sure - I'd be fine if one outlet gave Gears 3 the award, but Dance Central?

Child of Eden is completely ignored. And what the heck is this God-awful commercial for some six-string gimmick?

At least they gave props to Okamiden...?

Free LBP seems to be an EU region thing... if you're in the US, I don't think you're going to get the same thing.

Thanks, Naoko. Way to ratchet up the stereotyping. All guys don't dance, it's for girls, and guys are ashamed of such things. Nice.

@PSjesus - Actually, that's pretty hilarious. Imagine if Kinect was unleashed upon the adult industry! We'd have quite a few interesting Japanese titles. Maybe those companies are just waiting for a PC equivalent.

Unacknowledged? I've heard much more about Gun in the past couple of months than I heard about it when it was actually released! The big magazines and podcasts dipped into the Westerns when RDR came out, looking for all those predecessors and what was improved upon.

Netflix does not instantly viewable *newest* episodes of TV shows. You can see the latest stuff on Hulu, but you have to wait until the DVD's are released for a season before you see it on Netflix.

Youtube has some paid services, but other than that, it's not supposed to have copyrighted material that's shown without permission from the giant TV companies. You'll get a lot of dead links to copyrighted videos and some fan-made music videos if you search for a...

If you're only talking about Hulu and not another PC alternative, the subscription service expands the viewable archive of TV shows to entire seasons instead of just the most recent five, so it's not just "Hey, pay us ten bucks and you can get Hulu on iPad, PS3, etc." or whatever.

I'm sure this will actually cut down on the freely available stuff in some cases, especially with shows that currently have entire seasons available, but oh well! I hope this ...

@Redempteur - The new Kid Icarus control scheme looks eerily similar to Treasure's Sin and Punishment titles. I wouldn't jump on the "new" train yet, but it's still looking like a great game.

This might be a translation problem. The giant money-printing FPS titles typically do the same thing with their control schemes, and not too much changes, but that's not all of them. Even though Portal was hardly a "shooter," it certainly was a first-person game with a gun, and that was different. Bioshock had its interesting features, even though it didn't have the most sophisticated control scheme.

It's also a bit weird to see the Kid Icarus preview...

Did anyone else watch the video on the first page and think the guys sounded like Muzzy during the slo-mo bullet cam? I think a few of them said "Bonjour."

I understand where they're coming from. They figure that despite some obvious shortcomings, it's a lot of fun to mess with. Depending on how much the reviewer is into quirky older shooters (Timesplitters comes to mind), that could be equal to the scoring it got.

Not interested, but I g...

Can't wait for this one! It's looking better and better, and now the music is going to be integrated into the gameplay? I think my icon speaks for how I feel about that.
