Basically this site is broken into:

Fanatics for their system of choice that write long essays about how their system is always superior (usually have 3-5 bubbles)

Fanatics that just write quips, usually basing the other console (1-3 bubbles)

People that own both consoles that hate reading posts from posters above (4-6 bubbles)

Then there are posters that have a favorite console, but can articulate why they like it and can see the faults of ...

People didn't buy GTA:SA because the protagonist is black? Why do you even know people like that if this is such an issue for you?

It's called 'Rock' Band, and 'Guitar' Hero for a reason. They are made to play your favorite Rock songs. It's for a specific genre of music where the songs originators are of many different nationalities. If that's not what you like, don't play it. Saying that it isn't catering to what you like because of race is absolutely ridiculous.

You hit it right there and didn't even know it.

You don't want to re-purchase all those DVD's you have. And that's a really good point...

Except that when you purchase a BR player all those DVD's you've collected over the years aren't obsolete. In fact it's the opposite. You now get to watch all your DVD's in better resolution via upconversion.

VHS to DVD didn't have this luxury. You had to rebuy all those tapes you bought over the years. This time ...

" For PS3 owners, the main reason you have to install certain titles is down to the disc reading speed of the console's Blu-ray drive. It's simply not that fast at reading the info contained on the disc, probably because it's a first-generation drive and the tech is far younger than that of DVD.

Regardless, DVD drives load quicker, and so in loading the same game from a disc on both a 360 and PS3, you'd find the PS3 to be noticeably slower. "

Anyone who bel...

But I could see this being one of the worst games if not done right.

The show brings high expectations.

Studios make too much money on a new format. They did the same thing w/ VHS -> DVD and while there were 'more features' in that jump, there are enough new features in this jump (simply w/ hi-def video and more storage) that the consumer finds it beneficial to upgrade their player. Studios make more money off of BR. New tech means higher price tag and bigger return per disc sold. I would not be surprised if in 2-3 years new movies are only released on BR which would in essence force the...

Is that anyone who would be considered a 360 fanboy simply brushes it under the rug as though the issue isn't there. M$ is counting on this in fact. On other forums I get called a PS3 fanboy ALL THE TIME and I own both systems. Truth of the matter is that when someone wants honest pros and cons of each system and I bring up HW reliability it is almost instantly disregarded as an issue that has been corrected. Along the lines of 'nothing to see here... move along...'. That angers me as a ...

DVD fought VHS for years. CD's fought tapes for years (some cars are STILL made w/ cassette players...). New formats fight the old format for years.

It doesn't matter though. Fact of the matter is that DVD is losing market share to BR. Fact is that market share will not get smaller as time goes on. Therefore I will be able to get any new movie in full HD, and in the end that is all that I really care about.

Think of the userbase.

Do you honestly think that all those people that are buying the Wii are going to upgrade? These are people that have never owned a video game system before. Many only play wii-sports. Given the choice to upgrade and play a 'better looking' version of wii sports, or just keep playing the system they own and I think many would choose to not upgrade.

These are the same people that upgrade their PC's only when their current one doesn't turn on a...

LOL, that article is from last November.

Only developers know how their code ports from one to another. From the devs mouth it is difficult to port PC/360 code to the PS3 and 'most' find it easier to port from the PS3 to the 360. Don't pretend like you know why and that the toolset or architecture is too difficult to learn. They said the same thing when comparing 1st gen PS2 games to 2-3rd gen DC games.

Here are some interesting articles for you to read, in case y...

Now I can buy up all those Sixaxis controllers people will be trading in for DS3 for CHEAP. I'm glad I'm in the minority that prefers non rumble controllers.

My guess would be a building or two that was closed up is now open and there are 2-3 people in that building that give you missions. Like a new gang in town or something. I think asking for an entire island is lot considering that R* wants the core game to be the same. I think it will be more like the Knights of the Nine for Oblivion which adds gameplay and extras, but nothing more to the core story.

And while the DC used CD's which could obviously hold enough info for great games, DVD's seemed completely unnecessary for the first 2-3 generations of DC and PS2 games. People forget that games will only get bigger though and while the space issue is small now, can you imagine what it will be like in 2 years, or 5 years given the lifespan of the last playstation? While it seems unnecessary now, we will soon find out how useful it is to have that much space.

If by software profit you mean off of Live, then sure, but they create 1st party games once every couple of years, so counting on that would be folly.

It doesn't mean anything. It was dropped because during the 2nd and 3rd year of the PS2 had lots of games worth playing, the DC died out and the term was never used again... until the PS3 entered the market after the 360 and 'bam' the 360 has so many more 'AAA' titles. It's a dumb term that means nothing (I mean is it sales, scores and which ones, personal preference?... just dumb...)

I can't wait until the DS3 hits the shelves in the US because that's when I'm gonna be perusing the used game stores in my area for CHEAP sixaxis controllers. I love how light they are, and I like how they don't have rumble (I know, I'm the only person who thinks this, but rumble is WAY overused and has stopped being a novelty for me), but I especially love how well it reacts for motion controls. Except for the poor R2L2 design (which isn't nearly as bad as the internet makes it out to be) ...

I believe R* has already stated it's going to be about 10 hrs of gameplay for each 'episode'...

5907d ago 0 agree2 disagreeView comment

The PS3 version and the 360 version will be identical. The 360 version will have 2 'episodes' for download at a premium (ie 'extra' money), one released at the end of this year, and one released next year, but the core games will be identical. R* has stated that. This article is total BS.
