DL it last night on my bedroom machine and it takes like 10 sec, if even, to find a game. Sometimes I get to a game that the lobby closes, but I never spend more than a min trying to find a game. Roommate would wait up to 10 min a month ago to connect to a game and now it's nearly instantaneous. Nice job IW.
I got it for the 360 and it's terrible. The cover system sucks and is almost useless, aiming is terrible because the camera angles suck, and the story is bad. I only got a little into it and have been trying to get rid of it on ebay w/ no success. It's bad...
Nope that's wrong. Blu has the same transfer speed throughout the disc while DVD's have variable transfer speeds that are slow toward the center and faster towards the edge. So the first half of the disc blu ray will get more information while on the 2nd half of the disc the DVD gets more info. Thing is that most blu-ray discs that are made aren't using half of the disc anyway, so actually DVD's have a slower transfer speed, even though they spin faster.
It's in the profile 2.0 spec. 2.0 includes online capabilities.
It's the fact that M$ shipped a total of 10 Mil consoles at the end of 2006 and 17.7 consoles at the end of 2007. Sony shipped 1.5 Mil consoles at the end of 2006 and 10 consoles at the end of 2007. That means in 2007 M$ shipped 7.7 and Sony shipped 8.5. Not rocket science here, but as you said, these numbers are misleading. At the end of 2006 M$ padded their numbers to hit their goal and while it looked good at the end of 2006, their 2007 numbers dwindled because the retailers had to get...
Sony doesn't own blu, it's a consortium of companies including Samsung, Apple, HP, Dell, Pioneer, Koninklijke Philips Electronics, and Sharp. Prices will go down as the technology becomes older. The first DVD's were $25-35 back when they were a new tech.
2nd is that M$ won't do even half of what you say. Yes, price-cuts will happen, but you'd be a fool to think that Sony wouldn't follow as they have shown time and time again they are willing to take a loss up front to win in t...
The above should be $499 and $399 w/ a price-cut. Can't edit now.
And not keep recirculating them into the masses. I am the only person at work w/out the RROD issue (I'm one of 5 w/ a 360). A buddy on my bowling league had one that got the RROD, he sent it to the wrong place, he got it back broken in half and is now dealing w/ their legal dept. Out of 12 consoles that I've seen, only 3 are still working, 2 bought in the last year and one launch console.
I agree that it has a better social networking (friends, achievements even though I dislike them, easy invites, overall better and feels more networked), but the marketplace is the same on both. You go, see what you want, you start DL'ing it, you look for more stuff you want. It's the same on both consoles.
I'm looking for a few exclusives to be excited about for my 360 this year, but am most excited about getting the games I missed like last year like Bioshock, Gears and Mass Effect.
Think about it. Middle of the road 360 is $349, now add on a $150 blu ray drive (lowballing here) and you're up to $599 when the 40GB PS3 is $399. Even w/ a $100 price-cut on all models it would still be $499 compared to $399 even w/out a price cut, plus some of the $$$ that goes into that will go to Sony indirectly. I really don't think they will because than it will be far too apparent when comparing side by side to the consumer that the PS3 is a better buy. Esp w/ the lineup this year....
IMO ALL DLC for a game should be FREE! I guess I can see extra map packs a while after release (at least 6-9 mos), but that crap that comes out right after release is ridiculous. I can't believe they added maps to Halo only 3 mos after releasing it. Those should be free because those should have been in the game from day one IMO.
At least those who bought those 'bargain' players can still watch for a year...

'A dedicated BluRay player is still the preferred playback option for the best picture quality. Unless you just want to watch a BluRay movie with "it works!" quality then a PS3 is fine.'
This is ridiculous. The quality on my 65" TV is perfect. Not only that, but the PS3 is one of the few BluRay players that will be upgradable to the 2.0 sp...
Guess everyone likes DLC that should be in the original game, hmm, must be in the minority that doesn't like to pay for 'extra' content.
I don't know why I'm commenting here because you obviously don't know what's going on. The PS3 is DivX certified and can play back all XviD videos except for some VERY old codecs. It upconverts DVD's, plays blu ray discs, plays PS3 games, streams data easily from a PC, has a built in HDD to put anything you want on it, has built in wi-fi, built in controller chargers, built in card readers (for the 60gb version), outputs true 7.1 surround sound, every version has HDMI, and all have free onl...
+bubbles for you, very well thought out.
