Is GTA1 only in 3D. GTA1, 2, and London were genre defining sandbox games and w/out that 2D basis we would not have the juggernaut that is the GTA series. GTA3 actually took a step back, feature wise, when compared to GTA2.

FF8 & FF10 are FAR better than FF12. That being said I'll probably pick this game up when I'm get sick of COD4, which I don't see happening any time soon...

It's online only and while many people enjoy online gaming, not everyone has a broadband connection, and not everyone likes playing online. Uncharted or Ratchet would be my guess.

I DL'd a preview last night of RE5 and during it I could hit my PS button for 'in movie' XMB. Seems that the basic architecture is there and they would be in the optimizing stage so that it doesn't interfere w/ resources dedicated to the game you are playing.

Can upgrade the HDD w/ any 2.5" drive
Can install linux
Keyboard & Mouse support
Built in web browser
Built in wi-fi
USB ports & card readers that can be transferred to and from your PC

It is a lot closer to a PC than the 360 is, in a functional way, not in a programming way.

Spent about 100 hrs the first time through, about 150 the 2nd and about 80-100 the third time through. Man this makes me want to go put it in now...

Seriously, who cares. This doesn't make any side look better than the other, and it makes most of you look like rabid fanboys when trying to defend either system. This isn't going to sway anyone and is only posted for flame bait. We should rehash this some more... while we're at it why don't we try to dig up another HD-DVD is dying thread because there definitely isn't enough of either on here...

Where'd you pull this out of? Results by 'popularity'... nice argument, maybe better suited for the open zone.

How many of those AAA PS2 titles came out in the first year? For that matter how many of the 360's AAA titles came out in the first year?

Or a better comparison the FIRST 275 titles on each console...

But after that I never played another PS1 game. This is about the same time that I stopped caring about PS1 games when I owned a PS2, and I honestly don't care that my 2nd PS3 doesn't have BC.

You must not have played uncharted or ratchet & clank yet. Both are 'wow' games.

Also, get your facts straight. The first half of the disc is read faster on Blu-ray and the 2nd half is faster for DVD's because the DVD read speed is variable while the BD read speed is constant. Read speed isn't the issue. The issue is that they are allowed to use the HDD for whatever they want (music, cut down load times, cut scenes) and we really don't know what they are using it for. So...

What a worthless blog. In his opinion he didn't see a reason for the mandatory install, but offered no insight or news. Seriously, this article is full of 'who cares', plus the title is Pharmacopsychiatry, not Dear Diary. The only relevant part not quoted above:

I love to hear talk online about load times which are "twice as fast" on the Playstation 3. It's very easy to double a small number. If you have two cents, and then you find two more, that doesn't make you a ...

1) All US transmissions will be digital starting 2009, more HDTV's at least in that market

2) TV prices are falling like rocks, just saw a 42" LCD for $699, got a 65" DLP for $1599. Technology is only getting cheaper

3) Studios decide what formats to put their movies on. Just like VHS to DVD we will start to see movies ONLY released on hi def format (blu-ray). I bet we see this starting at the ...
