While the players are patiently waiting for the devs to come up with some new content, they decided to revisit the past battles. If you ask veterans which battle was their favorite, they will only think of one magnificent battle that happened very early on. Yup, Malevelon Creek will always be one of the most epic battles in Helldivers 2, and if you missed it, one animated YouTube video managed to capture the chaos of it perfectly.
An Animated Video Shows What Happened to Helldivers Fighting on Malevelon Creek
The battle of Malevelon Creek took place way back when, not long after the game launched. The Automatons, who were a relatively fresh addition to the game at that time, invaded the Creek and caused chaos. This was one of the turning points for Helldivers 2 as it was one of the first times the players took matters into their own hands.
Thousands of players ignored Major orders and sacrificed their lives trying to defend the Creek. To honor their efforts and reward them for their dedication to Super Earth, the devs gave a special Cape to the veterans.
Now, even if you haven’t been there, you’ve probably heard of Malevelon Creek from your fellow Helldivers. Maybe you’ve even seen some video clips showing how messy (and wonderful) the whole ordeal was. Well, when we feel nostalgic, we always return to one phenomenal animated video on YouTube.
It might seem silly, but it captures the spirit of true dedication in a lighthearted and funny manner. We always giggle all through this video. Everything from that one Helldiver missing the Hellpod launch, over the amazing training manual tip (use the back of the spoon to spread cream cheese), to players killing each other to steal Samples (we share them!). We’d also like to commend the creator, TerminalMontage for choosing some great quotes that added more depth. Men in Black and the Office? Sign us up.
However, the second part of the video might be our favorite. It depicts just how chaotic it was fighting on Malevelon Creek. Dying, being reinforced only to die again, all while being ragdolled to hell. We had a blast. The video also offered the artist’s vision of Joel, and, honestly, sometimes it does feel like Joel is a puppy that presses random buttons.
Helldivers Have a Lot of Feelings About This Video
If you haven’t fought on Malevelon Creek, you might think that this video exaggerated the situation, however, many Helldivers 2 players claim it was even worse. One player, Kevduit, noted: “Most chill Malevelon Creek encounter”.
Other players praised the creator of this video for its accuracy. THEOPDESTROYER777 stated: “That is the most accurate depiction of the creek I’ve ever seen. You think you killed everything, then a Dropship, a Hulk, a Tank, and a Laser Turret teach you that you haven’t thrown enough Stratagems”.
Also, many players still to this day claim that Malevelon Creek was the event that shaped the Helldivers 2 community. One player, shan4697, recalled: “The most wholesome thing to ever happen to me in this game was when suddenly someone level 25 just took me under their wing. They guided me through the mission, no talking. We already know what must be done, we hugged in the game at the end and they were gone”.
So, whether you are a veteran or not, always remember the Creek. If you’ve fought there, this video might trigger some nostalgia. If you haven’t, you’ll have a laugh and maybe grow to appreciate the very beginnings of this wonderful community. Now, let’s get back to work, a Major Order is in progress.
