In a recent interview, Arrowhead’s CEO and CCO claimed that the Illuminates were banished and would never return. However, all the recent (and not-so-recent) leaks featuring the Illuminates tell a different story. Most recently, one Helldivers 2 leaker shared an exciting compilation of all the Illuminate Objectives leaks. For a banished enemy, they sure have a lot of Objectives.
Leaks Show Off Some Exciting Illuminate Objectives
One prolific leaker, IronS1ghts, shared the amazing compilation of all the Illuminate Objectives they found in the game files. There are nine Objectives in total, so far. Some are extremely detailed, while the OP discovered only the names of the others.
The first Objective is named The Artifact. The OP shared: “The Artifact. Your goal is to collect and extract with an Illuminate artifact. The Artifact can take damage and become unstable, causing it to implode”.
Next, the OP showed off the Dark Fluid Harvester. They noted: “Dark Fluid Harvester. This device is used to extract Dark Fluid (It may also be used to harvest energy from the planet’s core). Not entirely sure how the objective will work, but you will be able to stumble upon a destroyed version of these on the ground”.
The Core Energy Harvester is next on the list. IronS1ghts stated: “This device will be used to harvest energy from the core of a planet. It has three layers of shields and a weak point at the center. It has multiple gravity-based push/pull attacks, along with a “Force Choke” ability. It’s absolutely massive”.
Next, the OP mentioned the Dark Fluid Research Station, however there wasn’t much known about this Objective. So, the OP continued with the next Objective, the Illuminate Rituals. This Objective was already leaked before. The players will have to interrupt a Ritual, and this will be followed by an earthquake.
Helldivers Can’t Wait to Face the Illuminate
Unfortunately, these leaks didn’t provide much information or images for some of the Illuminate Objectives coming to Helldivers 2. Still, let’s see what else did the OP find, and maybe you can fill in the blanks. Also, keep In mind that none of these were confirmed.
IronS1ghts talked about the Illuminate Proto-Droid next. They said: “We appear to be tasked with escorting a”Proto-Illuminate” to an extraction shuttle. This illuminate is capable of some basic self-defense attacks, such as firing lightning, and shooting a small beam”.
Next, the OP found the Neuro Perversion Device. They noted: “May be used in conjunction with the “MindScramble” and “Hallucination” Status Effects. This device will pervert your neurons if you are within close range (I have no idea what this means)”. And, finally, this leaker just mentioned two more Objectives by name: “Lesser known Objectives: Illuminate Power Node and Illuminate Base Module”.
Now, this is quite a compilation. The majority of Helldivers would be more than happy to see at least a couple of these Objectives in the game. Many players took to social media and shared their overwhelming excitement.
Still, some players weren’t as pleased. One player, cableitoh02, pointed out that all the Objectives were similar. They said: “Collect, extract, collect, extract, collect & extract”. Well, sure, but, remember, you’ll be fighting the Illuminate while doing so.
We don’t know when (or if) the Illuminates might arrive, but we hope they will soon. The player noticed the gap between the patches, it’s been a couple of weeks since the previous one. So, something big might be coming. In the meantime, let’s join the current Major Order and squish some bugs. For Liberty and Super Earth.
