As loyal fans know, the second Thursday of the month represents an exciting new opportunity, as that’s when the new Warbond drops. So far, Helldivers across the World are expressing their exasperation with the balance team’s decision to nerf the guns. For those in the unknown – all previous Warbonds featured some controversial changes regarding weapons and left their fans wanting more.

Divisive Opinions Inside of Helldivers 2 Community

Some gamers express concern that further investing in Warbonds might come with a risk of not getting their money’s worth. Some are just worried that the unlocked weapons will be nerfed after a couple of weeks. User sane_fear says: ’’… even if something stands out in the next warbond, we know it’ll get nerfed.’’.

We find these concerns to be valid, and many others agreed, asking for justice and more powerful weapons. Players are also demanding for the developers to focus on fixing bugs, rather than balancing the weapons.

On the other hand, some are not as easily turned away. Redditor sbpolicar says: ”… It hasn’t deterred me from unlocking the Warbonds, I’ve managed to earn 1k SC in the game for each Warbond release from Cutting Edge forward and I’m interested to see this next one…” To be fair, it’s important to point out that many Helldivers 2 players are quite satisfied with their experiences. They wouldn’t be interested in winning 10 Defense Campaigns, if they were thinking of giving up on the game.

What to Hope for in the Future

Speaking of the next one, a new Premium Warbond is about to drop. Polar Patriots comes out tomorrow, May 9. This warbond promises all new gear and it features weapons, armor, capes, and emotes. Phrases like ”limited magazine” and ”a slower rate of fire” are used in promotional materials, so we are looking forward to seeing how the community reacts to this one! We hope that the future is bright for Helldivers 2 players, or at the very least, that the balance team finally tips the scale in the fans’ favor.
