Helldivers 2 is developed by Arrowhead Game Studios and published by Sony. It is playable on PlayStation and on PC. Naturally, PlayStation 5 players can only play the game on their PS controller, but PC users have a choice of playing on a controller, or using their computer’s keyboard and mouse. Controller vs Mouse & Keyboard for Helldivers 2
PC users have the option to choose to play Helldivers with a controller, or with a keyboard and mouse. We will explore the benefits of each before we reach the final verdict.
Controller
Players who use the controller while playing Helldivers on PC say that they prefer the more fluid movement of their Helldivers, thanks to the controller’s analog sticks. Moreover, on a controller, you can input the Stratagem Codes without your Helldiver stopping to do so (but, this can be remapped on the keyboard). Lastly, during long gaming sessions, a controller places less strain on your arms than a mouse & keyboard.
Mouse & Keyboard
Mouse & keyboard players have way more options compared to their controller-using counterparts. A keyboard usually has more than 100 keys, and a lot of computer mouses today are made with some buttons on the side, giving you a lot of options when it comes to keybinding.
But, more importantly, the aiming with the mouse is way more precise than while using the controller. It can be a game changer if you aim at those tiny eye-slits. Moreover, in-game options offer way more options for fine-tuning your keyboard & mouse experience, than for the controller.
Mouse & Keyboard or Controller – Which Is Better for Helldivers 2
There isn’t a definite answer to this question. It all comes down to personal preference, as both input device options have their benefits. We can summarize these options like this: the controller is better for a more relaxed experience, while KB+M is better for a more “competitive” (for lack of a better term), high-level gameplay.
That is not to say that you cannot be great at Helldivers 2 while using a controller, or that you can’t have a relaxed game while using KB+M. It’s just that the advantages each provides benefit a certain playstyle a little more than the other. In the end, the best option is the one that you’re most comfortable with.
