You can’t have a Greek-mythology-themed game with some of the famous mythological items. Like the Golden Apple, for example, so read on to see how to get it in Hades 2.
As you have undoubtedly noticed, Hades 2 is based on Greek mythology. Other than Gods, you can also encounter other notable characters, like Polyphemus the Cyclops, Scylla, or Narcissus. Some of these characters are Guardians (mini-bosses that guard the passage from one zone to another), and you have to defeat them to continue on. But, Guardians drop unique materials needed for more powerful Incantations and other upgrades. One reagent like that is the Golden Apple, so let’s see how to get some Golden Apples in Hades 2.
How to Get the Golden Apple in Hades 2
Golden Apple is a special reagent dropped by Eris, the current “end-game” boss of the surface world. You can find her after you fully clear the Rift of Thessaly. She still is a tough foe to beat, so prepare accordingly.
Other than Beating Eris, you do not need any special tools to pick up the Golden Apple. Note that while you can meet Eris in the Crossroads, you can only fight her on the surface. First, you have to clear the City of Ephyra, defeat Polyphemus, then clear the Rift of Thessaly, and at the end, you will encounter Eris.
How to Use the Golden Apple
You need a Golden Apple (or Apples, in some cases) for a couple of Incantations in Hades 2, as well as for unlocking a Weapon Aspect. That means you will probably have to beat Eris up a couple of times.
- Incantations
- Sweet Nectar (1x Golden Apple) – Gives you three Ambrosia.
- Insight into Offerings (2x Golden Apple, 2x Ambrosia, 2x Poppy) – Reveal a complete list of each Olympian’s Boons in the Book of Shadows.
- Weapon Aspects
- Umbral Flames – Aspect of Eos (2x Golden Apple, 2x Driftwood) – Unlock the Aspect of Eos, changing the way Umbral Flames work.
