How to Get Moss in Hades 2 – Location and Uses

Hades 2 Melione at the Crossroads

On the surface world, Moss, just like sand, gets everywhere. But the same can’t be said for the Underworld so read on to see how to get some Moss in Hades 2.

It is quite rare to find an action-adventure game today that does not have some form of crafting and material gathering. In Hades 2, you must gather various items and materials, to perform magical Incantations, upgrade your weapons, and more. Some of those materials are easy to come by, while others are more tricky to find. Moss is abundant in the surface world, but, if you are a creature of the Underworld like Melinoë is, things get more complicated. So, with that in mind, let’s see how to get Moss in Hades 2.

Hades 2: How to Get Moss

Moss is very simple to pick up, you don’t even need a special tool or anything like it. The trick is that it can only be found on the surface. Since Melinoë suffers damage as long as she stays up there, this can prove perilous.

You can access the surface world from the Crossroads, but if the way is sealed, you first have to perform the “Permeation of Witching-Wards” Incantation. It will unseal the gateway leading to the surface. You will suffer damage as long as you are on the surface, so try to be as quick as possible.

Moss itself is easy to find. Just look for patches of green found across the City of Ephyra. You can gather it by hand, as no special tool is required.

What is Moss in Hades 2 and What it is Used For

Moss is a bright green Greenery material, just like in real life. Its in-game description reads: ”Mostly used with incantations involving strengthened connections.”

For now, you use Moss for various Incantations, like Unraveling a Fateful Bond, Observance of Gaia’s Secrets, and Summoning a Colony of Bats. Moreover, you need some Moss in order to add the Aspect of Persephone to your Argent Skull.

The “Unraveling a Fateful Bond” is the main reason you’d need some Moss, as it allows Melinoë to “breathe” safely on the surface. We expect that the devs will add more uses for Moss in the future.
