The fourth Season of Diablo 4 is finally live. Titled Loot Reborn, this Season focuses on equipment modification and upgrades. Of course, there is the usual batch of new cosmetics, updates, new mechanics, and new Dungeons. On the topic of new Dungeons and equipment upgrades, there is a new type of a Dungeon, that you need to clear in order to get some materials to upgrade your weapons. So, on that note, read on to learn how to unlock The Pit of Artificers in Diablo 4 Season 4.

What is The Pit of Artificers in Loot Reborn

The Pit of Artificers is an “endgame” timed Dungeon in the new Season. The goal is to eliminate a certain amount of enemies before the 10-minute timer runs out. If you manage to do that, a portal will open that leads to a boss fight.

Defeating these bosses is the only way to get your hands on materials needed for Masterworking, a new mechanic for improving your weapons. Additionally, you will unlock the next Tier of The Pit. If you finish the run with time to spare, you may unlock even more Tiers. The higher the Tier, the greater the rewards and the more powerful Masterworking materials you will find. The highest Tier is Tier 200.

You get Obducide on Tier Levels 1-29, Ingolith on Tier Levels 30-59, and Neathiron on Tier Level 60 and above. These materials are used for Masterwork upgrades. You may also get Stygian Stones, needed to summon Level 200 versions of Bosses.

How to Unlock The Pit of Artificers in Diablo 4 Season 4

Unlocking The Pit is pretty straightforward. You first have to reach World Tier 4. When you do, you will get a priority Quest to clear any Nightmare Dungeon of Level 46 and above. Once you do that you will get some Runeshards, and now you will start finding Runeshards on other endgame events, like Whispers, Helltides, other Nightmare Dungeons, and Legion events.

Now, go to Cerrigar in Scosglen, and near the Waypoint you will see the Artificer’s Obelisk. Click on it and you will get the option to spend a Runeshard to enter The Pit. You will also get to choose the Tier that you wish to enter. When you complete a run, you can spend more Runeshards to enter The Pit again and again, until you run out and have to get more.

The Pit of the Artificers is a great way to get your hands on some valuable materials and Legendary items, so be sure to visit it as often as you can.
