Gears on the mansion level in multiplayer always astounds me when I have not played for over a week( actually any of it does through my HDTV),I have been playing this game for a year now and still am in awe over it's great visuals and of course gameplay, Epic did a great job! Killzone looks good too but Gears at the moment has the upper hand in detail, when you get close to textures in GOW they still look good, I can't see that in Killzone yet.....but things may change for the finished game, ...
And the 300 will have extra content on HD DVD too as well as being able to play it in a normal dvd player
OXM magazine recentley played UT3 on the 360 using the enhanced unreal engine since GOW a year ago and this is what they had to say...
"The play test kicked off inside (and out) a giant wheel-shaped space station. What struck us like a bolt of lightening seeking out a hairdryer was that the already staggering Unreal Engine 3 - so impressive in Gears of War - had been tweaked to even greater levels of visual excellent and performance."

Look!!! That is what I meant my obsolete, their was no standard set so early Blu-ray players do not support: ie internet connection and HD DVD players do and did when released. So if you want these extra features on Blu-ray and you have one of those old players...guess what! you shall have to buy a new player.

you are wrong, HD DVD and Blu-Ray have the same Quality but.... on earlier releases Blu-ray was actually inferior and now has caught up! check it out! The DVD forum had the standardization sorted from HD DVD's release but the same can not be said for Blu-ray, I wonder how many earlier Blu-ray stand alone adopters will be slightly annoyed to find their players will be obsolete when it comes to running Blu-Rays new interactive features maybe coming up soon whilst they play catch up to HD DVD. H...
Now that they have decided to not carry hd dvd! I'll have to get it elsewhere.
Microsoft will not support either format for the 360 because the 360 does not contain an hd dvd drive, If they start putting games out on either format it will isolate people who have already bought a 360 and cause a scenario similar to that of the megadrive and mega cd, Microsoft chose dvd for games and now they have to stick with it until the xbox 720 comes along..plain and simple.
Blockbuster have lost my business then! I used to shop there a lot for dvd's and now i want HD content of my choice, so I'll have to go elsewhere.

Not impressed by that comment mate, a lot of good people died during world war 2 and they deserve respect! the americans worked with the europeans to finally overcome the nazis, but we in blighty were left defending ourselves successfully for years before any involvement with the americans, but... the help when it came to get europe back from the nazis was gratefully received.
Which you would expect from a biased point of view. I hope that people who have certain older Blu-ray stand-alones know they are screwed when it come to accessing interactive features on upcoming blu-ray discs because of the lack of standardization from the release of blu-ray, thats what happens when you bypass the dvd forum that is there to stop this sort of thing from happening and therefore protecting the consumer!
HD DVD did not let this happen.

Because until Blu-ray gets it's interactive features sorted ( Java) HD DVD has more bell and whistles with a working IHD from the start. I feel sorry for all those early adopters of blu-ray players (not PS3) that won't be able to enjoy the interactive features like HD DVD had from the beginning due to Blu-ray rushing out the garage. looks like that on my hdtv too I can't see why anyone could disagree with the truth..it just does look that good, can't wait for UT3 which the unreal engine has been optimized since GOW.
