My thoughts exactly...I was watching their live comparison on Friday night and from what they where explaining and what I could make out I was shocked. And now seeing this in full res and the rollovers I am speechless. What happened? It seems that Terminal Reality must have switched to the Xbox 360 for development mid way through...that is the only explanation. But one thing is for sure...I can't wait to play this game!
I agree that 640x480 streaming video doesn't do this game justice. But the Lens of Truth always does this. They do a live show comparing the games on justin.tv so people can interact, ask questions and debate. You will just have to wait for their in depth HD video and rollovers. They said expect the video sometime early next week. Regardless, I am buying this game! Looks like a blast!
unfortunately you are correct sir. They are saying that a majority of the textures have been cut in 1/2 or 1/4 of the Xbox 360 resolution. Unacceptable.
wow, I can't believe that people aren't approving this. The game looks SICK!!!
Looks like they got their server fixed. I saw this on the their chat:
"LoT_Corey: Looks like our server has been fixed. Stupid Apache settings..."
Still, nothing brings sites to their knees like N4G.
Well, not all games are created equal when it comes to cross platforms. I am glad to see that EA isn't aware of this! Great job with the conversion!
yeah, you are right. It is a business decision that they have made and seem to be sticking to it. If their pipeline is geared solely on PC and Xbox 360, and they are profiting, why spend the time/money to create a PS3 pipeline.
Glad to see that these are identical. EA should rent out there technical department to other studios in the "we can't get this working on the PS3" department. Especially Valve!
Yeah, I am not feeling the graphics on the new one. They are a bit half assed in my opinion. But, great job on the video! Brought back a lot of memories. Gotta love that skateboard!
I completely agree with you. Why add a feature that destroys the performance and overall look. It makes no sense. I am all for them adding this feature for future games, but it seems like they just tacked it on at the expense of performance.
If you can't see it how can you have an opinion? Anyway you are the definition of a fanboy. No matter what evidence is shown to you, you just can't believe it. Watch the videos...there is no "photoshop" here.
Anyway, if you want to take it up with them live, they are currently doing a show on justin.tv. I am sure they would set you straight.

The site is getting slaaaammed right now so I can't quote it. But they do mention SSAO in the article and one of the images clearly displays the effect.
I agree, the ambient occlusion is a nice feature that they added on the Xbox 360 version. Really adds grounding to the objects. I wonder why they didn't add it on the PS3?
I wouldn't say it has hit a wall, it is just that GRINS game engine (Diesel) is more optimized for the PS3. That is their development platform and they port to the 360. It is the same problem that almost all developers are having...how to juggle time/money and do the port right.
Man, GRIN has sure been cranking out the games this year. I would say that this is the best one so far. I am enjoying it quite a bit, but now wish I bought it on the PlayStation 3. The frame tearing is quite frequent on the 360. Ah well, still a fun game!
I was wondering about this for some time now and I am glad to see that both versions are equal. See multi-platform games can be done properly!
These guys gave away a first run Final Fantasy VII Advent Children Blu-ray with the FFXIII demo last month. I sooooo wanted that! Sucks America/Europe won't get the demo. :(
Even the most hardcore Xbox 360 fanboy will agree that the PS3 won this round. Just look at the pictures and watch the video...
I know what you are saying, a pre-rendered movie should playback the same no matter what. There shouldn't be any frame tearing, its the same as playing a DVD or movie file. The problem is that there is screen tearing in the cinematics (which are prerendered) on the Xbox 360 version. This was also apparent in Wanted: Weapons of Fate, another GRIN game that uses the same engine. There is something in the way they handle video playback on the Xbox 360.
Well that video you keep posting doesn't really prove anything. I would like to see some screenshots of both. The video looks a tad sharper because it has been sized down to 640x480. Also you can adjust brightness in game, the LoT video was all defaults. I still don't trust IGN that much either, especially after they said that WWE Legends of Wrestlemania where the same graphically between the PS3 and Xbox 360...and they sure as hell weren't.
