Agreed. If Santa Monica can re-invigorate the God of War franchise in a way that seems almost unbelievable, Guerrilla Games can do something similar for Killzone and produce something of the caliber of KZ2 or Mercenary. Looking forward to any fresh take on this franchise.

Bravo Team was worse. They seem not to have had great luck in VR except the Until Dawn spin-off which was great. Hopefully Medan is a return to form, and whatever this is continues on from that.

This is also one of the companies that has a great creative partnership with Sony and continue to willingly develop exclusive games for PlayStation platforms. It's unlikely that MS has anything to do with this particular trademark. Not even sure why you thought to bring that up tbh.

It could be, but not "probably".

Given that Supermassive's executive director has said they are still working on several unannounced exclusive games for Sony, it could be multiplatform, or it could be exclusive to PlayStation. https://n4g.com/news/221804...

You're probably gonna hate Shenmue III then.

There's an affinity system where people won't talk to you much or answer your questions because you're an outsider, but as you complete tasks around the village and people become familiar with you they will reveal information. If you're accompanied by Shenhua (who lives there) people will be more open to you because they know her and that trust would extend to you.

I personally love this det...

JFC Insomniac.

Support the PSVR already. I know they have a contract with Oculus but then seeing them move on to support this expensive non-gaming device is really disheartening, knowing the talent going to waste on this thing.

The infected animals should add a cool dynamic to how the world non-stop comes for you. You already have humans (marauders, rippers, gangs etc), and seeing how cool the freakers are I can't wait to see the infected animals act by comparison. The wolves look like scary encounters, but hell, I'm excited to see that rager bear in action!

Don't do this to yourself. Look at Crackdown 3 - the game that Microsoft's early "power of the cloud" claims and marketing speak was pretty much resting on. Not impressive, not even coming close to what they sold people on with that early demo. The "power of the cloud" narrative was shot down (and mocked) because people knew what MS was promising could not be achieved and ended up proving it with their latest release. Not because you believe people were claiming cl...

How did Crackdown 3 turn out though? How about that atrocious, embarrassment of a MP mode that supposedly requires twelve XB1 consoles to run a game, but looks no more impressive than an offline game like Red Faction Guerrilla which came out 10 years ago.

Nobody doubted that cloud computing was a real technological thing. What people doubted (and rightfully mocked) was what Microsoft tried to sell its audience for quite some time this generation. That GDC demo that fanboys ...

It's gonna be an amazing game.

Plenty of dynamic stuff going on in this open world. Excited to explore and also get chased by hordes :)

"The difference in the previews from a year ago is amazing"

Do you mean how it looks visually and the overall polish? I agree. Media previews were still pretty positive last year. I think people are now becoming more aware that the game is likely to turn out great. I think these latest previews will cement another Sony first-party hit and propose big things for Bend's future.

It's part of the future, kinda like VR. But not the ONLY future.

Physical games are going nowhere. Digital downloads will still be way more popular than streaming. It's not a technology that can replace traditional content delivery for many, many years. It's an area that companies like Amazon, Google and Microsoft want to explore because it can be extremely lucrative, but with next-gen that focus is going to saturate the market to the point where the only way so...

That is ridiculous. What will a Nintendo and Microsoft partnership bring that will make Sony go third-party?

Switch getting Xbox games, and Microsoft celebrating having less selling points for their consoles? That sounds more like "going 3rd party" to me. Sony and Nintendo continuing to make exemplary award-winning games and the industry continuing to celebrate their achievements in gaming is what will contribute to keeping them relevant. The only way Xbox seems t...

If Ybarra's word could be trusted, this would mean something. However, he makes disingenuous arguments and exposes double standards over Twitter on what seems like a regular basis. The fact that he's Corporate VP of Xbox and says some of the things he does, is remarkable.

I wasn't exactly discounting indie games in particular. Devotion is on my list of games to check out. Out of interest, what are some of the games are you referring to and if I missed them I might check some of them out?

Sony has more cross-play enabled games than Microsoft.

Yet it's somehow a more urgent issue for Sony to fix. Reminds me of the mods "controversy" where Fallout 4 and Skyrim had mods on Xbox and Sony were more restrictive about it, and to this day we have almost no more mods on consoles... and not even Microsoft made the effort to enable mods on their first-party games, but people wanted Sony's head on a platter. Fast forward almost 4 years and nobody, NOBO...

Can't say I was enamored with the guy, but his contributions are no doubt legendary so I'm sad to see him leave.

Nintendo games sell Nintendo hardware. Xbox games seem to not be having the same effect.

Sounds less of a partnership, more of a MS wants more people in on their platform-agnostic subscription future.

Good to see. Exodus is one of the only good games to come out of February.

1892d ago 13 agree8 disagreeView comment

With all these companies getting involved it's going to become very saturated very fast, and if subscription is your selling point you're going to have a hard time especially if your content doesn't stand out. Companies like Sony and Nintendo would be smart to stay on course and release legendary games. That is how you stand out in the future.
