Nothing will change. PlayStation will dominate another generation due to its strengths -- and *newsflash*, even though PS4 was stronger that it was both the strength of the brand and making a strong, focused gaming console that lead to its success. PS1 and PS2 were not the "stronger" consoles either but they dominated. PS3 was engineered to be more powerful but at the expense of accessibility, and Xbox in their strongest gen couldn't even outsell Sony in their weakest gen where ...

I'm glad you bother.

Although it is true that taking the time to let these guys know what they probably already would if they weren't so absorbed by the Teraflop Warz, is a futile effort. They just want to feel they are supporting a superior product and probably also have a chip on their shoulder and want retribution, because of the repercussions of Sony simply building a better gaming console than MS. Why? Because of having spoken to developers asking what they wan...

The technical difference is like 17%, which is smaller than ever before, and multiplatform comparisons will be even harder to tell than ever. Then you bundle in the PS5's SSD which is 120% faster than XSX, of which developers are praising it's obvious that this isn't just something you can laugh at or call people blind or delusional over. It has it own advantages but it can also assist in areas of deficit in multiplatform games.

NXGamer has pretty much all the d...

If you read the specs then you'd notice that overall (not including the SSD) the difference is ~17%.

That's much, MUCH lower than the difference between the previous consoles, and do you know what makes it even more interesting (and developers seem to agree) is that the PS5's SSD is 120% faster that the one in the Xbox Series X. So the BIGGEST difference between these consoles is the SSD. This generation is going to be fun, looking at Digital Foundry comparisons...

The experts and the devs seem to disagree that it's as straightforward as you imply.

Wait til you see the games, the price and the minuscule difference between third-party games.

I doubt you will be all that bothered then... like most people.

There is a 17% difference between these consoles in practically all but one area. The absolute BIGGEST difference between these consoles is the SSD and that is 120% faster.

That is definitely going to contribute to the visual and performance differences between these consoles even more negligible. PS5 will also have noticeably quicker load times, with the ability for Sony's first-party devs to again make the most impressive games compared to Xbox studios.

Please be smarter.

RDNA2 FLOPs are different to GCN FLOPs.
RDNA2 CUs are different to GCN CUs.
We're talking relative differences here.

Who is calling the XSX "much more powerful" apart from those guys and Xbox fanboys?

The on paper difference is like 15-20% which is a LOTTTTT smaller than between PS4/XB1 and X/Pro, which was like 35/40% respectively. Digital Foundry head-to-head comparisons are going to be next to impossible to distinguish (even for them), and the SSD is going to pick up the slack in notable areas. So even less of a difference. It's crazy what the narrative has become -- and ...

Devs aren't crying though. They're absolutely in love with the PS5's hardware because it was designed for them -- not Xbox fanboys -- and if it was a problem and Sony had nothing special or innovative going on, this wouldn't be the case. This excitement is coming from third-party devs as well, not only Sony's first party studios.

That is how he feels about games that look "ancient". PS4 games don't look ancient.

Well said. Well said.

Their approach to this generation is introducing things that not only enhance current expectations for games, but to introduce new ones and all in the name of immersion. It's all been building up to this. Their experience in VR has shaped their intentions. I can't wait for how all these individual things fall in place and how developers use them. Having said that, PS5 does have the same abilities to offer quick resume.

I really, really, really doubt that their customers haven't been asking for VR.

They teased their audience at least twice with a staunch promise of VR on Xbox One and then walked their promises back, so if anything people are more likely to be less interested now because they don't trust Microsoft to follow through on these promises, not because they aren't interested in VR.

YIIIIIIIIIKKKKEESSSSSSSSSSS.

In PS5, Sony is not only looking to have the most powerful AND fastest machine, not only is it going to have world-class exclusive games including sequels to games such as Spider-Man, God of War and Horizon, but its next-gen leap forward in VR experiences will go unrivalled... again. If they think simply having more content for Game Pass is going to put them at the forefront in this upcoming generation (other than sponsored fluff-pieces written ...

A Half-Life sequel would re-popularize Tamagotchis.

Earlier this generation, you were defending many of Microsoft's "far off options". Despite looking beyond the hardware, they're still going to be behind the the PS5 for yet another generation. I get that they want to start a generation focusing on "the right things", but they have the means and the resources to support VR well. They have bought studios that make VR games that will skip their ver...

Great stuff.

I'm glad they're approaching it like different episodes with several full game's worth of content. You would just have to, to do it justice instead of cramming it all into one edition.
