I like my Switch, but it's a terrible platform for non-Nintendo titles. I see no point in trying to play multiplayer-heavy games on the device when I have to be in my home to do so anyways. Just gonna stick with my PS4 for that.

This is far more concerning than us paying a little more. I hate to say it, but this may be in anticipation of the US removing Net Neutrality... If that happens, higher PS+ prices are going to be the least of our worries...
@KribWalker Sony literally only really started talking up the Pro this passed E3, but even then they've made it clear that vanilla PS4 owners will remain a focus. The difference with vanilla PS4 though is that it's still more than good enough to be a viable purchase; Pro is simply a bonus for hardcore users.
On the Xbone front, whenever a developer talks about future game performance, they talk about Xbone X. Probably because they've become too afraid to remind ...
That's why people constantly praising the X is a bad sign; there's no way in hell even a fifth of the current Xbone install base will be making the switch. If they continue touting this $500 console, they're literally going to alienate over 20 million people; something they blatantly promised they wouldn't do. It's not gonna end well for them, especially with Sony/ Nintendo's current lineup, and the fact that Sony can easily bump down the Pro's price for the holida...
Given how much GTA V has sold on PS3/4, it's safe to say Sony is going to do whatever they can to stay in Rockstar's good graces. The RDR2 deal is a pretty strong indicator as well.

No. PUBG will help, but it's not going to be a system seller on Xbox, especially seeing as the game will innevitably come to PS4. Games like World of Tanks and Smite, that garnered massive followings during their PC exclusivity, do tend to be popular enough on consoles, but millions of people don't run out all at one time to grab a console for them.
Remember when the Xbox fans were saying PS4 had a weak launch because the Japanese were waiting for Xbone? I do lol

With Nintendo putting more and more emphasis on artificial demand, I can see it being a very common thing for them.
It's pretty so far. I think my personal favorite multiplayer of this generation though is Uncharted 4. That multiplayer is still a blast
I didn't realize Spider-Man, Days Gone, Knack, Death Stranding, Gran Turismo, Horizon, and Ratchet & Clank were following the "Naughty Dog" route.

Obviously, given the sales dichotomy, not everyone is a multi-console owner. I think it's obvious that there are a lot of people out who only own one of the three, especially PS4. So, yes, there can a clear and concise winner amongst them. In this case, the clear winner has been Sony.
Edge has been a nortoriously stupid site since it's conception. That's nothing new. Last gen, even when Sony clearly were doing everything they could to make the PS3 the greatest console of last gen, Edge was always hovering around like the flies on shit they were, gobbling the Xbox feces while constantly yelling "Boo Sony!"

I'm honestly surprised Sony hasn't done this with Pro yet. If MS makes a big deal about theirs, I'm sure they will
