Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater 3D: Hands-on Preview

I bought Metal Gear Solid 3 Snake Eater the day it came out back in 2004. After enjoying my first playthrough, it sat on my game shelf for eight years awaiting the day it would make its way back into my PS2 for another run. It took the release of the game on 3DS to get me to try it again, and now that a playable demo has hit the 3DS eShop I sat down with both versions of the game to see how it handled the transition from cutting edge console game to 3DS portable title.

Why are we Gamers? The Uniqueness of Video Games

Dom from TVG gives his view on Why are we gamers, he writes " Here comes a cliché saying but I have been a fan of video games since I was a child, but then again isn’t that how all lifelong interests and hobbies start? With the enthusiasm associated with a child?"

I'm a gamer because I like video games. Been playing them since Pong and the 2600. with each new system comes new game experiences. I can't not play them as I always find a way to get the system and its games into my collection. It's expensive but nobody said a hobby like this is cheap.

I like how there are different types of games that test the limits of ones own personal abilities to problem solve, dexterity with eye / hand coordination and reaction times. Puzzle games to platformers to shmups to racing... I play them all. No matter the platform.

We are gamers because we are f***ING awsome that's why! We like to be in control of our entertainment and are more passionate about our hobby than most. Take NFL fans...like hardcore fans dressing up like the team mascots with painted faces and no shirt in 20 degree weather...you'd think that would be hard to top....until you think about grown men/woman dressed as cloud flying around THE WORLD to get a >>preview<< of games...a preview though. We don't sleep and call out of work for games....we talk very complicated talk about specs that normal humans wouldn't come close to comprehending..and forget a state...forget a country. ...WE ARE WORLD WIDE all shapes and sizes...all races from different walks of life...we are GAMERS.

Why do we watch tv? Why do we play sports? Because they are a fun hobby

I don't know what i am anymore. I follow gaming news, videos, and culture on a daily basis, but i rarely play games except the occasional SF5 matches online. There are other life interest that has kepts me very busy and occupied, but i still have this deep interest in gaming. I've been gaming since the atari 7800 and up until this current gen, i gradually slowed down to almost completely stopped.

Special guest I've gone through phases when I thought I was done only to get sucked back in. PS4 sucked me back in hard. Played a lot of games this gen with UC4 being next.

Darth, pong and atari 2600 was also my first game and system, been at it ever since. Defender, river raid, pitfall, kaboom, yard revenge, space invders, and centipede kept me going strong on that system. Then duck hunt and nintendo, it just escalated with ps1 and here I am today.

Hell, I still find myself playing games from generations past. Can't ever stop playing Strider on Genesis or Jumping Flash on PS1. Lately I have been enjoying games I never played on the TG16 / PCE thanks to the everdrive.

Not sure I'd trust Nemesis to not tentacle my party in the back. Feel a bit sorry for Lara in this group as well...

MrsNesbitt3115d ago

Why have I not played these games yet!

Shillmeister3115d ago

Good piece, would be interesting to see actual game-crossovers like this list (akin to Kingdom Hearts with its Disney character crossovers).

This would definitely make for a pretty interesting game
