RDD, I too am Irish. While it can be oft be irritating or even offensive to see the brits prattle on about their glory days, most do it purely in a tongue-in-cheek manner, which is perfectly acceptable. I actually thought it was funny, in this context.

And moreover, let it go, man. The people in Britain today are not the same people who squeezed every last morsel of food from our country and left us to starve and murdered our people for the better part of 8 centuries. They don't give a damn about Catholic vs. Protestant, they could care less if Northern Ireland was handed over to us (in fact the entire UK might just let out a gigantic sigh of relief), and they seem to have little to no feelings regarding us. It's truly all in the past for them. They have their own problems to worry about. AND SO DO WE.

Northern Ireland is British infact its just Northern Ireland because all of Ireland at one point was part of the Union but then most of it broke off other than Northern Ireland because we wanted to stay. Hahaha, well you see England took Ireland. Then in the 1800's-1900's Ireland wanted to be free(*due to the Famine and disgrimination against catholics), in the 1920's the deal was every where except the counties up the north(due to protestant dominance) wanted to be free of Britain. Britain wouldn't let it happen for the whole time so I don't know what your shi*ing on about. It took the Easter rising and years of resistance until Britain let the Republic exist.

The North still has conflict up the North Today over the Norths position. Don't lecture me about it. Ever here of Troubles? "It not as easy as We wanted to be British" A moderate Majority wanted to be British, the rest Irish.

And you think the UK is the only Nation that did that ? Every Major Nation in Europe had an empire, France, Netherlands, Spain, Germany and its what made these Nations sure it made the Republic, if it wasnt for all of Ireland being part of the Union you wouldnt have got it as easy as you did when the republic was formed

EDIT: Well sorry to say I am proud it was done to build the Nation and there was no other way to go about it and all the Colonies like Canada and Australia look how well off they are due to European influence you cant say that the colonies didn't benefit, Hong Kong being the best example

Pretty much every 'civilized' nation today got started with the blood of millions, RedDead.

Yeah, I'm sure Nuts and Bolts was awesome. Codemasters has shaped this generation of car games and Sony Liverpool is a great studio as well. But the downside is that Naughty Dog, Valve, Insomniac, Crytek, Rockstar, Bethesda, Bungie, Codemasters, Nintendo, (Infinity Ward), Sony Santa Monica, Kojima Studios, Squarenix and many other studios that have shaped this generation of games aren't british. And you can't blame the brits for not having as many great game studios as Japan and USA. But overall, yes Brits have remarkably many good developers compared to pretty eqully large and located Germany. Media Molecule, Rare, Bizarre, Sony Liverpool, London and Cambridge and Codemasters are a happy bunch. So it's a good observation. But there are more game of the year winners that aren't britsh than the other way around, so saying that "Brits make the best games" is a bit nyeh... but I'm sure he didn't mean it so literally.

Plus you could say that for nearly every developer/publisher that has an officer/studio in any country

Sony is Japanese but they sure have a lot of English studios

That's all I can think of. I'm sure there's loads more though. I agree they seem to make the best quality games, not that they have every genre covered or anything like that... not enough British devs to make enough games. There are plenty bad ones too.

Criterion is british as well. Both criterion and media molecule are based in guildford. The UK has awesome talent considering the size of the country

Europe as a whole is insanely strong housing Ubisoft, DICE, Media Molecule, Crytek, Rockstar, and loads of others

England alone has Media Molecule and Rockstar and loads of others I'm obviously missing.

I'm British, and I wouldn't necessarily say that Brits make the best games.

But I am proud of the fact that our little nation can stand shoulder to shoulder with bigger, more well funded and government supported nations and create world class games.

I would say that British devs make some of the most creative and innovative games in the world.
