It's a good time to be Capcom : millions of gamers are buying and playing their games from Monster Hunter to Resident Evil and Street Fighter. But how much of this success is due to do with Capcom's decision to "go west" and make their games more stylized to the western gaming market?
The Dead Rising series has enjoyed a long and storied history over the years, but which game in the series is best?
Over the last week, Jake has been going back to the Dead Rising 2 Off The Record remaster and has been an absolute blast. When he was 15 he first got his Xbox 360 and Dead Rising with it, it was unlike any other experience. It made him wonder though, what happened to the Dead Rising series.

They took away the depth and charm of the game that made it fun and interesting, and made it into a generic zombie killing game.
This was the series the got me to buy an Xbox 360. The first one was so good. It still had horror elements. As it went on it became kind of a parody. Never forget getting Zombie Genecider achievement and then restarting the game to get the Mega Buster. That thing was monstrous against enemies.
Some video game weapons are so outlandish they could never realistically be used, and that's why they're on our list of the 10 most impractical weapons in gaming.
Well, what I've seen from Dead Rising 2 so far doesn't seem to stray too far away from the feel of Dead Rising 1. Really, the only issue with that game was the save feature. That's easy to fix. And it seems as though they are adding online multiplayer in some fashion, which is a huge plus. Here's hoping that it includes some type of co-op mission style online play (Resistance 2 for instance).
I think what Capcom needs to do, is focus on what works. When they've listened to their audience, they have usually hit a home run. They seem to be doing that with Lost Planet 2, and they did that with Street Fighter 4. Now they need to listen to us bring out another Onimusha and another Rival Schools for fighting fans!
